02 Primetime Cup Championship

I have seen the accepted list on their site but any confirmed teams playing in it. I really hope to see the same participation as there was for Summer Shoot Out.

btw futbolista, know of any other tournaments more of the style and flavor of the ESPN Copa? I heard about the Copa Jarritos tournament going on this weekend but I think you have to play in specific league(s) to participate in that one. Any others that you know about that may not be in the mainstream of NTSSA listed tournaments.

We really enjoyed Copa ESPN. We got to play teams we never played before. Currently I am not aware of any similar tournaments coming up.

Its good to hear AYSES are in this tournament. You have a good group of boys and our past games have been exciting. Hopefully we get to play each other again. Congrats on your last win at Summer Shootout.

Dynamo vs. AYSES should be good game, I've seen both teams play. Anyone know anything about Solar Blue and Solar Red Crushers? Did they play SDL? Also I see Odyssey 02 is not playing in the tournament thats to bad they are good team also.

Solar Blue played SDL and was in the top U8 division. They share a coach with Solar Dynamo. I think they are a good team, but not as good as Dynamo, AYSES, DTS.

That's the first time I've seen the name Solar Red Crushers.

Solar Red Crushers used to be Crushers 02 but the coach is taking them to Solar. He has about three teams of boys, so not sure if he will combine for one strong team for this tournament or just take one of the three teams that are split up evenly right now.

What league did Crushers 02/ Solar Red Crushers play in?

Also whatever happened to Solar PFC? are they still playing?

Crushers played in SDL, but like stk1 said, they had 3 teams playing--same coach. Crushers White was the team playing in division 1 and they were solid, but my guess is they probably finished around 4-4 on the spring. I guess it really depends on how the coach rosters the team(s) after this move to Solar.

Too many roadblocks.

We didn't qualify so we would have to request an exception.
Holiday weekend.
Our coach is fully committed (rightly so) to his 99 team trying to earn a spot in classic league in the Challenge Games.

Just didn't work out. I'm looking forward to being U9 and recognized as academy by NTSSA this fall. It will really open things up from a tournament standpoint to provide more options.

Thanks Debit. We too look forward to this fall to be recognized as Academy. Were not too crazy about 7 v 7 for one and also the variety of tourneys.

Seems to be a good mix of strong teams, should be a really good tournament. Who won it all last year?

Also in the attempt to have some good hearted fun and create some excitement, anyone wants to predict this year’s winner?

Here is mine Ayses and Solar Dynamo will come out of Pool A not sure who will be in first place. It will all depend on who wins the game between each other (this game should be a really good game, I like the way both teams play). Pool B should be interesting because I have not seem Solar Blue or Solar Red Crushers play, with that said, the way DT South has been playing they should be in first place Pool B. Who will be second? That’s a tough one. The Championship game should be DT South vs. (Ayses or Solar Dynamo) both of these teams will challenge DT South making this a really good game. And the winner is …

Solar Dynamo over Solar Blue (should be interesting since Renner coaches both teams)

AYSES has never played Solar so it should be an interesting match. My predictions are always worthless. I attribute that to the uncertainty of knowing which one of my son's teams shows up to play on any given day 02 Primetime Cup Championship Icon_smile

Congratulation to all the teams that participated in this weekend’s Primetime Cup, me and my BB saw some great games this weekend from some great U8 teams. First up Solar Dynamo was tearing it up in Pool A. The Ayes vs. Dynamo game was exciting both teams played well, Dynamo just controlled the entire game. Pool B Solar Crusher Red surprised everyone they played well the whole tournament beating Ayes for the 3^rd place (2 to 1) (another great game). DT South 02 just dominated the entire tournament not allowing a single goal. I actually thought Dynamo was going to beat DT in the championship game but that didn’t happen. DT took control of the game from the beginning; they are really a good team all around… very exciting team to watch. Congratulations to DT South 02 for another tournament championship.

I have to agree with WHAT in regards to what a great tournament the Primetime Cup Championship was. There were some good teams out there and such great match ups.

Congrats to Crushers for winning 3rd place and edging out AYSES. This AYSES team is a tough and talented team. First time seeing Crushers play and I was impressed. But the match up I was hoping for in the Finals was Solar Dynamo 02 and DT South 02. These games are always tough and again I wasn't disappointed.

Congrats to all the teams that placed in this division. I also want to congratulate Dallas Texans South for a nice showing in this tourney. DT South 01 for placing 2nd in the U10 division, DT South 03 for co-champions in the U7 division, and DT South 02 for placing 1st place in the U8 division.

Yes, Congratulations DT South 02 on a well deserved win. It was a tough weekend for AYSES. We really struggled to get it together. Taking all our games into consideration this weekend (including those we won)... we, fortunately, played our better game against Texans South. That was a good game and a lot of fun to watch.
