June Open Practice

In years past this forum was very active at this period in time with select teams looking to bolster their rosters but this year i'm not seeing that much activity. Is this due to Classic League still playing games or are the coaches out there happy with what they have finally?

Word has spread around that only desperate teams advertise a need--everyone else is diligently developing the players they have and using the backroom connections to collect the players they want. Just kidding, I think.

Question, what makes up the composition of an ideal classic league team?

5 players who start, no matter what happens at practice or the game due to being composed, skilled players.
10 players who bust their butts at practice to get playing time.
3 players who are happy to be on the team, but are there for the social enjoyment.

No mention of parents, but reality is that parents do get in the way more often than not.

I'm pretty sure the composition of the ideal CL team does not include more than 15-16 kids.   Well, unless you are the one getting paid.    Maybe it depends on the age.  

It may be hard to advertise for open practice when you have to scramble to find fields that are not under water on a daily basis.

Sounds about right Earbucket, getting odd reactions to postings and PM. I like to hear from other parents on team initially, as opposed to coach/manager right off the bat. Hello June, here we come.

My BB is happy where he is at but was just curious. Haven't seen many posts about coaches leaving either. The wet weather has halted a lot of the activity I suppose. There might be real tryouts come July 1st if this rain keeps up.

9 players that do whatever they want composed or not
6 players busting their butts at practice to get playing time
1 coach that cannot wait to get 6 new players    

There is a lot of turnover rumored this year.  It's going to be a mess just like the spring season.
