04 goalie looking for team in Keller area
My boy is a goalie looking for a team. We have been playing rec in Keller for numerous years and would like to make the move to select. I don't really know where to start to find him a team. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 04 goalie looking for team in Keller area
You will need to decide which level of competition is most suited for your BB (your son) and then select from the list of teams in your area.
It will be somewhat challenging initially and you will probably need to get some additional training resources depending on the level of team you are searching for so prepare yourself for that option if you are looking to join a PPL (Plano Premier League), APL (Arlington Premier League), or CL (Classic League team).
The Saints are a local team in your area so I would try them first because they have a professional GK coach and are at a level that will test your ability, but hopefully not overwhelm a player transitioning from rec soccer.
After you meet with them and have an opportunity to see what your BB looks like against competitive soccer players then come back to the forum and post your follow up questions and we will guide you the rest of the way.
Stay away from the big clubs initially, that means don't tryout for Solar, Dallas Texans, Liverpool LFCA, etc. until you are more familiar with how everything works in North Texas Soccer.
The big clubs have a wider range of competitive players that you should avoid until you have a good sense of what you want to accomplish and the total soccer commitment you are willing to make.
My advice is to get all the facts before you make a final decision and then post your questions on the forum since it is here to help you navigate the system.
We are at the halfway mark in the season so now is a great time for you to start looking for teams once you have an idea of where you are best suited at this point in time.

GSSC may have an opening. My son plays of the 05 Thinder for them and we aren't age pure yet so half of the team is 04. Ryan Ross is the coach. Practice is in Southlake and Grapevine depending on field conditions.
