Dallas Supercopa 2016
http://www.premiersupercopa.com/#!teams/c1zb3
The first list of teams for the 2016 Supercopa is now posted on the website.
Hopefully all the shake up with teams for age pure does not negatively affect teams participation this year. Should be a good way to go out for the U12 group with one last shot at this tournament.

SuperCopa is a great tournament and has been very successful for NTX soccer teams.

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Are they still doing traditional and age pure brackets? If so, they have a lot of teams to add.
"Invited teams will have the option to register for SuperCopa using the current traditional (Aug 1 - Jul 31) roster OR upcoming age pure (Jan 1 - Dec 31) roster format. 16 spots will be offered in each format in each age division, bringing out total in every age division to 32 teams."

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Looks like the NTX teams in the U12 age group are:
1. SR 04
2. Solar Chelsea
3. FCD Gall
4 Dallas Texans ( I assume Hassan)
Will be interesting to see if the rosters are the same in June as they are now.

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Looks like they invited only two NTX teams for the traditional 06 bracket, and did not invite the defending 06 champions back. Â
That seems odd given that the 3 NTX teams invited last year finished 1st (3-0), 1st (3-0) and 2nd (2-0-1) in pool play. Â Half the 2015 A-flight gold, semifinal teams were from NTX, and a NTX team won the whole thing, beating Surf 4-0 in the final. Â
|
Prior results would seem to suggest that more, not fewer, NTX teams should be included. Â
I get that they want to make this a national tournament. Â But they invited SIX 06 teams from southern California alone. Â And 4 from Florida.
I can't imagine those Socal teams want to fly all those miles to play Socal teams they play every weekend.

I find it strange that an 05 Solar team made it into Supercopa...they don't even have a D1 team....

Looks like that is an AP Oglesby 05 team so maybe it was an 06 team with a bunch of 05 kids and added some older 05s. But true, seems a little odd without a track record, however, based upon history, Ogelsby turns out some pretty good teams.

That's the Oglesby 06 team. Â Going age pure 05. Â They're a deserving team and finished second in the qualifying tournament.
That said, after Gomez there are about 3 or 4 NTX teams that can beat each other on any given day. Â FCD Premiere, some version of Texans Nazari/Badii, Castro. And probably a few others. Â

That's precisely what they told some teams they would do. Not sure if they are following through.

They are definitely doing AP brackets. I stopped by their office last week and had a quick chat. They are still inviting teams. Going to be a great event!

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
As of today there are now 22 teams committed to the BU11 Bracket
Does anyone know how they are going to handle pure 05 teams from 04/05 teams ?
Are they going to play each other ?
Are there going to be 2 champions one for pure 05 and another for 04/05 ?
If they are mixing the pure 05 and 04/05 teams how will they be grouped in rd 1 ?

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Looks like lots of changes recently to team list. They now have them divided up between "Traditional" and "Age Pure" entries for each age bracket.
For the U12 group there were a number of additions and teams splitting from traditional to age pure. Definately a hard time to get this figured out for teams and players as lots of changes going on this month.
Good luck to everyone who is playing and hope we see some brackets soons.

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Supercopa starts tomorrow ( hopefully) and it looks they have contingency plans in place for the bad weather we are sure to get. Have heard things from Turf Fields to Indoor, so it appears the show must go on. It's impressive if they can get it played this weekend.
For the Boys U12 traditional the brackets are:
Bracket A:
Arkansas Comets
Bethesda SC Blue
FC Dallas Gold ( Gall)
Maya FC
Bracket B
Azzurri ( good luck Al, take it easy in your first game)
Guadalajara Soccer Scorpions
Solar Red 04
Texas United Heat Black
Bracket C
NM Rush Barcelona Black
SA Elite 04
Solar Chelsea 04
Team Challenger FC Black
Bracket D.
Chicago Magic PSG
DT Galactico
FCD youth 04 Blue
ID Dynamo Jr 04B
Last time for some of these teams to play together after years together for a lot of these kids. Hope it comes off well in whatever fashion it takes.
Good Luck

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
2016 Premier SuperCopa is officially underway! Rain forced all of today's games out of MoneyGram and into 12 turf complexes around the DFW Metroplex. Even through all the scheduling and facility changes, the SuperCopa teams have been amazingly adaptive and very supportive of the changes.
As previous years, the competition is impressive. The kids can play the game at advanced levels and it's very impressive to watch!
Congrats to all the participating teams! Hopefully we're back at MoneyGram Saturday and Sunday.

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Kudos to U90 for pulling it off today. Major task to get that many fields on short notice. Games were run well, staff was helpful and competition was good. If the weather holds we would have all been complaining that it was canceled (see last weekend). Hoping for a great weekend of good weather and great soccer.

Re: Dallas Supercopa 2016
Agreed. Thanks to U90C for being creative and working hard to get all the games in.
Our boys had to play a game in 7v7 format on a much smaller field than normal (and one 9v9 game, on the same field, that was really crowded), but we all knew that the alternative was to cancel the event.
Good luck tomorrow.
