When we us parents will know which coach would have age pure 04 boys?
When try out will open up to check other teams out?
July will be upon us quick.

Start with coaches that have current 05 teams.

When try out will open up to check other teams out?
After State cup is finished you are open to go practice.

June 1 you can try out with other teams.We are going pure age 04.We are an indepedent team out of East Dallas,Garland,Mesquite area.We just finish D3 classic league.

You can try out with other teams after State cup this year, not June 1 as in the past.

When will this forum officially be Age Pure? Should we still be talking about traditional '04s on this forum (i.e. Fall 03/Spring 04) or should we follow Classic League's lead and transition what formerly were called '04's and now call them '03's? Maybe Admin can set up some AP forum categories for us.

Pretty simple, this is the 04 forum, so if you're looking for an 04 team (meaning your son was born in 2004), you're in the right place. If your son is an Aug-Dec 03 birthday, you should be in the 03 Forum now.

Didn't the email from North Texas say you can start training as soon as State Cup is over or your season ends if you are not in State Cup, whichever comes first? So if you are not in State Cup you would be free to train with whomever? You still would need a release to play n tournaments with other teams. I can't find the email, but I am almost certain I read that.

It's whichever comes last.  So it's State Cup.  State Cup should be over May 8th barring rainouts.

competitive players), players may practice with other teams without any required release or
other permission, although formal tryouts may not be held until July 1.

Huh.   I swore the first time it said "State Cup competition for their age"....but now it says State Cup competition for their team.  So maybe you are right, its league play if you aren't in the State Cup?    And if you scrub out first weekend of State Cup, then it's a week earlier.   Maybe.  I wouldn't expect much until May 9th.

Here's the new rule as of January 2016:

New Rule:
3.10.10 Soccer-Playing Year for Competitive Players
1. NTSSA has established the seasonal year as being from September 1 through August 31. However, these rules
provide that a competitive player is a free agent beginning July 1. That player will continue to be a free agent until
the player and or his parents or guardian have signed a contract with a team. The period of August 1 of the prior
soccer year through completion of State Cup competition for their age group or completion of league play for their
team, whichever is last, of the current soccer year is considered the soccer-playing year for competitive players.
During the soccer-playing year, players are not allowed to try out, practice, or participate with any other team,
unless they are a competitive player in the same club or registered as a guest player with another team, in which case
the proper release must be signed by all parties. Practice with a team on which a player is registered as a guest
player is permitted only if the practice dates are included on the guest player release. A competitive player
practicing with a team in the same club is permitted throughout the seasonal year. Otherwise, a player may practice
with another team if he has received a written permission letter signed by his current coach that sets out the dates
and the team with which the player will practice. The player is to give the letter to the coach of the team with which
he will be practicing, and he must keep a copy for himself. After completion of State Cup competition for their age
group or completion of league play for their team, whichever is last (the end of the soccer-playing year for
competitive players), players may practice with other teams without any required release or other permission,
although formal tryouts may not be held until July 1.

Interesting; teams are holding practices now and using the Academy as their avenue to see those players... Their pitch is that "Academy is different", but they sure are getting to look at players who might not make their Academy early in the process...
