Candy always works because you appeal to a person's sugar weakness. Only problem I find is that not many people carry cash these days. Other issue is that you are competing with all the school fundraisers right now. They're all doing the same thing.

I think if you sold a Yeti style cup, you would get a big response since those seem to be very popular these days. I've seen the RTIC ads for bulk purchasing. You could also try http://axiscups.com/.

We have a friend who always sell Super Bowl squares for their baseball fundraiser. They make about $1000 off of it. Not bad!

I never carry cash.  If you do a fund raiser that requires a person to have cash already in their pocket you're likely to limit your customer base.

A local Boy Scout troop knocked on my door and asked if they could sell me mulch for my gardens.   It was late winter.  They'd deliver the mulch in a few weeks to my house.  They gave me multiple choices for the type of mulch to select.  There was no limit to the volume.  The prices were fair considering they would deliver it.  I bought 20 bags.  I wrote a check.  I hope those kids come back again this year.

Back when I was in Boy Scouts, we sold fertilizer like that. We also had a busy corner lot donated for use and we sold Christmas trees. I see alot of groups standing on the street corners selling the bottled water, my nephew's peewee football team made over $800 in a few hours when they did that.
