Looks like an exciting final for Puma - DTS and FCD Gold. Neither had a goal against in bracket play. Impressive.

Looks like Irving Elite will end with the most points at Tut. Any one else reminded of the D3 Tigres of last fall?

FCDE lost 3-1 to Irving Elite - good team and a good game. FCDE wins the tourny due to points.

Curious on outcome of Puma Cup 97 results.

Irving Elite is a good team and should dominate D3 next season.

Question Question
Huh? FCD played 4 games, Irving Elite (and everyone else) played 3 games...why didn't they finish the round-robin?

Lightning, a team forfeit (Nationals) and I guess no one wanted to play the extra games. In all fairness, Irving won the tournament but since Texas Xtreme or ASG wanted to play them twice, they only were able to get 3 games in.

Thanks, randee... I was wondering if all those Nationals 0-3 losses were forfeits.. Smile

Puma cup Final:
DTR South 3-0 FCD Gold
That San Diego Surf Cup next week should be smoking... expect DTRS to get a couple rds into the playoffs... I'll post some Prating numbers for the brackets on Mon/Tues...

Did the Nationals show up for this tournament??? Aren't they the same team that didn't show for the Memorial Day Cup?

Both of the tourneys are over and no big surprises.
Irv. Elite maybe a small surprise beating FCDE but Irv. Elite is a very good D3 team and FCDE is a mid pack D2 team and they both took care of the rest of the teams.
4 D1 teams were in Puma and they only lost to each other. DTS was suppose to roll and they did. FCDG over SR might be considered a surprise but FCDG has been playing well lately and this is SR first tourney since NAMDC.
August should straighten out some wrinkles with Dr. Pepper and Plano LD. Andro R., DTR, DTRW, FCD and Solar are usually in one or both of these tourneys so their new rosters will be unvailed and showcased.

The Nationals did forfeited. Irving Elite is a good team with 5 new players added in to the mix. They played aggressive and bumped/pushed/shoved (though not a dirty team)just enough to throw the FCDE boys off their game. Good match but I think once we (FCDE) get use to having 9 new boys on the team, we should be a bit more of a competitive team.

Okay Randee, I'm taking some scouting notes. Was it bump, shove, and push? Or bump, push, and shove? Just kidding, my friend. I'm glad you guys got off to a good start. Good luck this season!

I believe it was push, shove and then bump. No cards were given and I do not believe that any were deserved. 1 PK was awarded in the 2nd half to Irving but the Keeper made a stellar save and the PK was denied (actually he shot it out of bounds).

We will scrimmage TFC this coming weekend. Hope the cantankerous school teacher from Forney area does not show.
