Game of the Week

TFC Blue (2-0) vs. Aces (0-2) - Its not very often that the marquee game includes a winless team, but this week is an exception. TFC Blue came into the year as the preseason favorite, hitting on all cylinders, and has looked unstoppable so far in their two games. Aces had high hopes for this season as well, but they have struggled in two disappointing losses. An 0-3 start is not what they had in mind, but maybe coming into a game as the clear underdog is what they need to get their game back on track. I think Aces will play much better this week, but that still may not be enough to translate into a win. TFC Blue 3-1.

In Other Action

Tiapehuala (2-0) vs. Valencia (1-1) - Tiapehuala has put up two impressive wins, and this week faces a "feast or famine" opponent in Valencia. Big Orange has throttled Texas Blitz 6-1, then got hammered 6-2 by TFC Blue. This game will test Valencia's resolve, and we'll get to see which end of the spectrum they are trending toward. Tiapehuala 3-2.

Nationals FC (1-0) vs. Texas Blitz (1-1) - Nationals FC has been inactive since their 5-1 opening day win three weeks ago. Texas Blitz rebounded from their opening day loss with a surprising win over Aces, so they are clearly improving. Nationals will still have what it takes to get the win, 3-1.

FC Dallas (1-0-1) vs. Texas Xtreme (1-1) - I'm still not sure what to make of this FCD team. All signs point to them being a very solid team, especially on the defensive side of the ball as they have not given up a single goal in two games. It is also true that their two opponents have not been among the top scoring teams in the league, having netted just three total goals in their four combined games. Texas Xtreme has averaged 2 goals per game so far, so this will be a tougher test for FCD. Without much of a feel for where these two teams are at this early point in the season, I'm predicting a 1-1 tie.

HPSA Scots (2-0) vs. CDI (1-1) - 2-2 tie

Milan FC (0-3) vs. TLSC Orange (0-3) - Something has to give here...Milan 3-1.

Manchester United (2-0) vs. United (2-1) - The battle of the Uniteds. The longer name wins. MU 4-3 in a high scoring affair.
