D1 10/2-10/3 Pick'em

In between meetings at the job so decided to get on and post. My weekends picks for D1:

Dallas Texans Red (NAZARI) 4 vs. 0 DALLAS Texans Red West (SCOTT)
Andromeda Red (BAZAN) 2 vs. 0 FCD Gold (FIGUERO)
FCD Premier (MOLINA)) 10+ vs. 0 Solar SC 97B Gold (JOY)
FCD Blue (SUAREZ) 0 vs. 3 Solar SC Red (Solca)
Andromeda White (UREMOVICH) 4 vs. 0 FTW FC White (HUDSON)
FTW FC 97B WHITE (HUDSON) 0 vs. 5 FCD Blue (SUAREZ)

All games look to me (IMHO) to be a top team vs. a lower team in rankings this week with the closest game looking to be Solar Red vs FCD Blue. Great weather this weekend on the pitch and good luck to all.

FC Dallas Premier is the top team in the State, Solar Gold was promoted from Plano to D1 this year to fill a bye. So in this case, I gave the Solar Gold boys the props that their D can hold the FCD crew to at least 10. If the Solar Gold collective throws in the towel before the game is over, this could me the most lopsided match all season.

I'm afraid I'm with randee on this one. FCD Premier is a team that will run up the score relentlessly whenever it can, and this team is going to provide an opportunity for that. On the flip side, SG knows what they're coming up against and ought to have their D ready. .. never underestimate the underdog!

FCD 7 - Solar Gold 0
Not quite as many as expected.

SolarRed 3 - FCD Blue 2

For a team that went from PPL to Classic D1 this is OK. Even if they don't stay in D1 it will make them a stronger team for D2......then again a win here or there..... they could stay in D1.

Going to be fun following this team.......really look forward seeing them get a win or tied this season.....and if they don't still have great respect for the players.

sorry to ruin the parade fellas but i don't think fcd was tryin to run up the score at all they looked like they were playin their little brothers. they were toying with SG and at times it just looked pretty bad. they scored the first with in 10 sec. fcd plays a certain style they conyrol the ball take away your oppurtunitys. pass here pass their control the clock and attack when oppurtunity presents itself. their not out to kill every team they are out to beat you 1-0. fcdb had SR on their heels. an own goal put them behind and fcdg played a good 1st half against andro red ar 4-1

Within 10 seconds? Are you sure SG was on the field at the time?

I saw it as well - the refs thumb could have still been on his timer. The next goal wasn't very shortly after that, but probably took at least 3 times as long!

Punisher what your saying FCD decided it was more important not to run up the score. Then scoring more goals and gaining sole possession of second place alone. Which now they share with Andromeda.

yep thats what i'm saying i dont think they care about scoring a bunch of goals they just win.plus they will meet these teams anyways that decides the real placements.

Hopefully they win all there games, and don't get in a two or three way tied at the end of classic league. Cause then maybe they will regret they did not score those goals.

I heard they had lots of shots on the goal but they only ended up with 7. The first three happened fast all by the 98 kid and then another few and they only got one in the second half but it wasn't because they were holding back or trying not to run up the score. I understand from the parents that they just couldn't get any to go in. It wouldn't make sense for any team in a close race for the top D1 spot to not try and score as many as they were capable of.

Just to clarify - he's a 99 kid.

I dont think that's right. My younger son played with him a couple years ago and I remember him being a young 98 but I believe he is a 98. We had a game right by this one and I watched for the first few minutes and saw all three of his goals. He's as big as some of those older kids and by the looks of things he's not missing a beat playing up.

He's definitely a 99. He's referred to as "The Chosen One" on the '99 threads.

His birth year is 98, but in soccer he is a 99!!

I think you're confused. There are two kids with 98 birthyears playing up on this team. I think they are a month or so apart but the younger one falls on the 99 side. My son played with the older one and we've been following him for years. I don't know if the younger one was in this game but the boy that we saw score the goals is the one that used to be the Solar 98 #10.

Ahh- good point. Both did play last year for Solar 98 with only one being a 99. Both play forward, although sometimes the 99 plays center mid.

I did not see the game, so very easily could have it wrong. Sorry for any confusion.
