Small Practice Fields.....
How can you expect to play on a bigger field and connect passes when all you practice on is a field that is divided up by 8-10 teams? I know not all clubs do this, but some do. Thoughts on the benefit of practicing all year in a small space?

Re: Small Practice Fields.....
A bigger field is just a bunch of smaller fields put together. Just think of it as a moving smaller field.

Smaller fields can be good as passes need to be more precise. Main benefit of a big field is long passing but a big field is pointless if you dont have alot of kids.

Re: Small Practice Fields.....
You have to look at the positive on this. Small space hodor more ball touches. It hodor the coach to run more drills which means more touches on the ball. Large space for the passing game you want means more standing around time and less touches. More touches=more development.
I read an article talking about how in the US, the kids average around 300 touches per practices. That's about 600 per week not including games. Kids in Europe average around 10,000 touches per week. My son read this and started supplementing his own practice. His goal is to get around 2000 touches per day if not more.

Re: Small Practice Fields.....
Thanks for the feedback, the number of touches for the kids is a pretty important. The only main drawback I see is that kids sometimes don't space the field well as they are used to be playing within a few feet of each other so it lends to some crowded space at times.
