DTSC Fall Festival 01 Predictions

Looks like this tourney has the most competition this weekend. Several unknowns from out of town, so take these with a grain of salt:

I can see where DT Densk MAY win their bracket but I am not confident they will win it all. They ended SDL on a losing streak. Something is going on over there that obviously isn't working right now.

Agree. I don't see the Densk team winning this tournament either. May not even win their bracket.

Did a little research on the three out of town teams...
Both the Houstonians teams and the Dynamic team have good tournament records (Gotsoccer.com game history).
The Houstonian Red has won the majority of their tournament games against other 01s boys team (25-1-4).
The Houstonians (not Red) played up in tournaments and managed to pull off decent win percentages.
The Dynamic shut out the other teams (only 4 teams in the tourney) with a score differential of at least 4 in their last tournament in September.
It's hard to tell what the level of competition is for both clubs.

I predict the Houstonians (not Red) team should win bracket C and possibly the tournament.
I hope I am wrong. I would really like one of our local teams to win it, not a team from Houston.

I am not sure that I would say something is going on versus the fact that the boys, just like all of the teams for that matter, are 9 and 10 so that one has to expect inconsistency. Inconsistently inconsistent. Predictions at this age group given player movement, age, etc is difficult. They should be lucky to have good games and let the boys be boys...

Didn't DT Wolf only lose to DT Densk by a last minute goal in the DT friendlies? They could give Solar a shock.

I was told they beat Wolf 2-0: one at very beginning. DT wolf is a very good team, it wont be a surprise to see them upset Solar.

wolf beat liverpool but the match was very even, liverpool gave up two soft goals but liverpool could have easily won too. should be interesting.

I would characterize it differently. The first half was dominated by liverpool, the second half was up for grabs and wolf scored 1 soft goal and 1 great goal. they were not a dominating team. A good team but not a dominating team. They were pretty evenly matched.

no problem , i did see the game. Wolf has a good team, but not on the caliber of the solar teams

I definitely see a lot of close games this weekend. The good thing is it looks like all of the teams registered will be competitive; I don't see any 6-0 games out there. Even the '02 team is one of the best in their age group.

That game was back in June at the ASG tournament. Corey's team scored the winning goal at the last minute. They Lost to Densk 2-0 in the DT friendlies.
Against Solar Partain: Lost 3-1 at ASG tour.
Lost to Partain in another tournament before that 2-1.
They have never faced the Densk # 2 team. Some of the Densk 1 and 2 players do play as subs for wolf. Usually one or 2 kids.
It will be a awesome tournament, can't wait for the games to begin.

There sure is alot of attention given to the DT Wolf team. They have been mentioned in recent topics. I assume that some of Densk2 players will be playing with the Wolf team since they are not in the tournament. Did DT Wolf find a goalie?

I hope Andromeda Molomo, Liverpool, and DT Wolf plays in SDL D1 next spring. Should be interesting. All three are in this tournament. The three are definitely the strongest teams in SDL D2. DT Wolf seems to have the slight edge. I don't foresee DT Wolf beating Solar Partain or DT South in this tournament, but you never know...like mplsng mentioned earlier, 9 and 10 YO tend to be inconsistent. Enjoy the tournament! Hope the kids have fun.

I heard that Solar has lost a few good players. maybe DT Wolf will have chance this time. But no matter, it's going to be fun to watch them.

I wonder how the 01 teams feel about an 02 team playing in their age bracket. I noticed this team wasn't playing at the Primetime Thanksgiving tourney where other top 02 teams were playing. They are a very good team, top team in the 02 division. I know this team and maybe one other 02 team can hang with some not all of these teams. It will be good for the 02 team no matter the result.

someone mentioned whether wolf had found a goalie. i think the goalie question is up in the air for all of the teams except Solar partain (best player on his team bar none and if anyone not on the team talks to him, watch out the coach will come after your scalp) and FCD premier, whose goalie has made some great progress since this summer. there has already been a little movement and talk of more. If your bb is a capable goalie, he could have his pick of teams as select comes around.

What about Texans? Seems like they have had the same keeper for a while. You are right, a good keeper is tough to come by.

Predictions are only that predictions, it will all depend on who shows up to play this weekend. The tournament seems very competitive and maybe some teams will surprise others. We will have to wait and see the results.

Mplsng, I agree with you about the inconsistency at this age. They are 9-10 years old and have bad days/games.

I wonder how many 01 teams have full time goalies that are dedicated to that position? Its seems like this position is available in a lot of top teams.
