Sunday at Soccer Spectrum:
THE HURRICANES (B-U14) 0
ANDROMEDA 97' (B-U14) 22
Was that really necessary or just a typo on the score?

Re: 22 to 0
I wasn't there, but heard it was pretty horrible. I know half were scored by kids who have not scored in years (defenders/keeper). That type of score is usually more in line with the U9/U10 crowd.
I'm guessing this is due to there not being a U15 or U16 league as normally Andro plays up for Indoor (well...at least from U7-U12).
Should be a long/worthless season for all involved. We played Futsal at Sportsplex one year, that was pretty decent, but Spectrum is central to the majority of our players, so it's an easier venue for getting touches in (but, as shown, the touches increase exponentially at times).

I guess the goalie got the most touches that day, at least 22.

Does pulling the ball out of the back of the net count as a touch?

Re: 22 to 0
At 10-0, I would suggest pulling players off the field to make it more evenly matched. I imagine the coach made several changes.

Play possession, period. At least then the winning team would at least get something useful out of it instead of developing bad habits against weaker opponents.

After you go up by 6 or 7 points, you can go to shooting with off-foot only (ie, left only for righties). If that doesn't slow it down, you can go to dribbling with off foot. Then maybe passing. Then if that doesn't slow it down, one-touch passing and shooting with off foot.
There has to be something they can work on that slows down the scoring.

Re: 22 to 0
Which Andromeda team was it?
If it's White or Red there is no excuse, they shouldn't even be playing indoor since there both in D1.
But on the other hand if it's Navy, well they went 0-9 in D3. They only scored 3 goals while giving up 41 this season. Guess they needed to let it out on someone.
Sorry cains but that the way it goes.

Didn't you know Clueless that indoor is only for bad teams so they get more touches and get better?

Re: 22 to 0
Team is Andro Red - playing without all their boys. No upper age bracket for them to play up against so they are stuck beating all the hapless teams they play. Not sure what they are learning from this. Should have probably found somewhere else in Allen, Plano or the RISE for better competition.

Re: 22 to 0
Rarely can you find "better competition" for indoor. At U11 my bb coach decided to have the boys play indoor to keep in shape. We were beating a team this bad the coach told the boys they had to have so many touches before they could shoot. That didn't work. He played short at one point and tried to play without the keeper. The ref told him he had to have a keeper in the box. The score ended up 35-0 I think.
This year we are guest playing with an APL team closer to home. They too are playing for fun and to stay in shape. They played a team last week that was a baseball team that decided to play indoor to stay in shape. They also didn't have any subs and we did so at half time we gave them a few of our players just to make the game a little more exciting. But really this team needed to be playing in a rec league or something. I felf really bad for them.
IMO, the indoor facilities should better match some of these teams so they don't get killed. We are currently in the same situation where we couldn't play up. There has to be a better system for these select kids that just want to get out there and play with their friends to have fun and get some touches!

We had a similar situation a few years back however the coaches then decided to mix the two teams and just play. Both teams enjoyed that much more.

Re: 22 to 0
We played a game this past weekend that we could have won 30-0 but I just told the girls “do you really need to win that big” and they (95s) took it upon them to take it easy and passed the ball around. The other teams coach thanked the players for showing a touch of class.

Re: 22 to 0
Can these teams play up in the adult leagues? Yes, I know the adults won't like losing to a group of kids but if girls can play in the boys leagues, why can't kids play in the adult leagues?

To play up in an adult League you must go to their offices in Carrolton and get a waiver and card. I believe this can only be done for 17 yearold but im not positive on that. Regardless it is a VERY bad idea. The adult leagues, male or female, always have a few very bad attitudes and very out of shape players either which can spell injury for younger faster players.
