Chelsea Football Academy vs. Solar Chelsea U16 Academy

This game is listed on Espn3 (the website) showing Monday at 6.30 PM. After some vague research it seems to be the Disney showcase; I am assuming it is "our" Solar team from Dallas against the Chelsea from England. Does anybody know more ? It is the first time I see any youth soccer listed on ESPN3. It should be interesting to watch...

My friends son plays on the Solar team. It is our local team playing a team from Chelsea. Should be interesting to see how our boys stack up.

We left around the 70th minute with Chelsea leading 3-1. It was a little crisp out.

Chelsea just played a better possession game. Solar had some good opportunities early in the first half.

I am watching it right now. What strikes me is that Chelsea is way better under pressure in small spaces. It seems that everybody is able to deliver that quick pass in order to get out of pressure and let the game flow. Individual composure seem also way better. Solar is good though what an experience for those guys to play Chelsea ! It is also funny how Chelsea academy is Chelsea. It feels like watching the Pro...

Good athleticism demonstrated by US players, some players with great skill on ball, area for improvement is working to control the ball under high level of pressure. Some players did fine others were not able to distribute accurate passes under pressure. Chelsea did great job slowing game down switching the ball then moving and attacking demonstrating very controlled and poised play. Solar played a little more direct at times. Great score by solar player outstanding. Chelsea midfielders made two excellent goals from outside box although Solar midfielders did a good job winning and accurately distributing alot of balls. Solar struggled a little on defense against Chelsea speed on outside giving up first goal and almost another.

The commentators were actually quite interesting to listen to; they don't talk much about the game itself but they have prospectives on youth soccer and good inside info. This was quite good; I am still wondering why we have that on ESPN3 ? Why this game ? How about other games in that tournament ? Also did you guys find a link for the complete results ?

This match was fun to watch. It is cold down here with the wind howling but that didn't stop approx 60 college scouts lining up watching.

It's seems a big step to get a U16 showcase match shown at all. Why, I'd guess it's Chelsea so that gives a U16 match some weight. Most of the events on ESPN3 are NCAA bball/football and some good professional soccer matches.

I really enjoyed watching the match. Shows completely different levels of soccer with some of our better U16s from NTX and a top European professional academy team. Give the US boys credit for hustle and heart (I think I heard KS getting the the volume up a few times...classic Kevin ;-).

U16 Dallas Texans Academy won the final.
U16 Solar lost to Albion of San Diego 1-0 in final of the showcase bracket in a hard fought game. But at least they passed ASG in Got Soccer points.
