Hurst United doesn't show up for the Semi-final game. If they were too scared for a re-match with Irving Elite, at least they could have told the tournament director so a more deserving team like ASG or Barcelona could have taken their spot.

Reflects poorly on their club, coach and manager.

Irving Elite was the best team at this tournament and won the Final 4-2 (according to the website). Very talented team and it will be interesting to see how they do in D1 next year.

Well, AYSES Winter Classic turned out to be a good tournament in the '97B age bracket. Wish I could report that we went to the championship round, but I can't. We lost to Amarillo Lightning 3-0 in the Saturday evening game. The final game turned out to be a good game, with Irving Elite winning 4-2 vs Dallas Texans.

My opinion only is that the game of the weekend was the Dallas Texans vs Amarillo Lightning in the Semi-final round. Amarillo Lightning scored in the first 2 minutes and the Texans tied the game with 8 minutes left in 1st half. Texans go ahead goal coming with only 2 1/2 minutes left in the game. Lightning takes kick off and fires 3 nice shots at goal before game ends. What a battle with the 8th place, Div I Dallas Texans winning. Look forward to watching all of the '97B classic league teams compete in their respective leagues this upcoming season.

Most of the time I don't like to respond to these types of post but I will this time.Hurst United was not a no show on purpose. Really thought we did not make our bracket with 11 points let alone be winner of bracket. Huge mistake on my part as Team Manager. Never have made this type of error before and was truly sick about it!! Sad

Would have loved to have played Irving Elite again great team to go up against not afraid of good competition. Tournament director did here from team and also Victor Coach of Irving Elite. So no your facts before you post!!!!!

I can see this mistake happening.I would like to say great job Lightning for a great game sunday against a D1 Texans, could have gone either way.
