Agree with all the picks except Athletico will not beat FCDallas(Suarez) you are smokin it.
Two great games will be FWFC vs Chivas and Gunners vs Comets Blue. both are toss up games. The losers of those games should be the top two seeds for round two.

watched FCD play somebody on Sunday morning, not very impressive. What about FCD Blue (Copa)? Everyone was so excited about the team for awhile, sound like they are not even a contender anymore.

99s, you really think a top team should be demolishing lower seeded teams by what, 10, 11 goals? It doesn't always happen. Sometimes the match-ups are just right, or the fields and ball are wet, or whatever. Just because a team doesn't kill a lower seed doesn't always tell the whole story. Andro Red ONLY beat the Strikers 2-0, but outshot them about 30 - 0, just couldn't find the goal that morning. Heck, Texans only beat Andro 5-0 and I would have thought they should have beat them 15-0 at least. Solar Red had some similar issues. This weekend some of the rust should be coming off, and hopefully dry fields, so we'll see some more representative scores I believe.

You are right about the closer scores. Any team that played early either day last weekend could have had very deceptive scores. Saturday it was pouring and Sunday the early games were very wet and the ball was doing funny things. Anybody that has been around sports know that bad field conditions levels the playing field. Hopefully, that won't be the case this weekend

Agreed, it not just scores. A top seed winning by one, but totally dominating the lower seed is better than winning by 5 and not playing well. Regardless of scores, which of the top seeds really played like top seeds? Which of the top seeds did not play that well and will struggle this weekend?

Could not agree more with that assessment. Also agree with the Gunners/Comets. Seen them both play and agree with an earlier post that Comets play better soccer, Gunners have better athletes. In 100 degree temps, better soccer wins. Just last week, it seemed everyone thought the Texans Connell team was too new and needed to prove themselves on the field. Now, everyone seems to have jumped on their band-wagon until Regulator's last post. Did I miss some phenomenal display from those guys last Sunday?

BINGO! alot of top seeded teams didn't post blowouts but if you had watched the games you would have seen total domination! case in point Andro Red vs NTX strikers 2-0 total ball control and way more shots on goal,Gunners vs FCD Black 1-0 but Gunners were never really threatened by FCD,FCD Suarez vs DFW Tornados,3-0 but tornados maybe had 2-3 shots on goal FCD 14-15 shots,Solar Red vs Boca jr's 1-0 a ton of missed shots with boca jr's getting NO shots whatsoever on goal!total control of the game and ball possesion was probably close to 95% !
I think alot of the lower seeded teams will play with a "nothing to lose" attitude and style of play and also a more defensive style so thats why you have seen lower scoring games, this ain't academy no more people it's the big time! LOL!

i agree that is a very good set up but i dont think bracket C is between FCD Blue (Copa) and DTS any more!

Looks like the top 10 seeded teams except Gunners won their brackets for D1. Guess the classic league committee was pretty accurate. Good luck to those playing tomorrow in round 2......
