Women's World Cup: Japan def. Germany
I was surprised to learn that Japan was ranked #4 in the world. But not so much after watching them beat Germany.
Japan controlled possession in the first half, but there weren't any great scoring chances.
In the second half Germany pushed forward and put a lot of pressure on Japan, but got caught on a counter in the 108th minute.
There were plenty of chances for Germany to score, lots of corners and good service into the box. Nothing resembling a finish however. Japan always seemed to have someone there challenging so give them credit.
