Swine Flu Part Dos
Ok, now that school has restarted we can expect the onslaught of Swine Flu cases.
But not to worry. If caught early, you can expect about a 48 hour turnaround, per my doctor.
My boy was diagnosed yesterday morning and let me tell you, the first 24 hours is a BITCH!
But, his temp is now down to 99.5 and feeling much better. Hopefully within another 24 hrs he'll be close to normal.
Thank god for Tamiflu.
Advice to parents, the second your kid tells you he's feeling hot and he has temperature, you need to take them to dr.
My boy also had headache, vomiting, body aches and a running nose that was like a faucet.
If you get them to dr within 48 hrs, your safe. If left untreated, that's when you the turnaround time is longer.
So remember, it's not a black, white, hispanic thing. Viruses are color blind. Alot of kids are going to catch this. But, if you play it smart, you'll be ok.

Re: Swine Flu Part Dos
I was home with my sick girl earlier this week. Today, I am home with my sick boy. It's crazy how many kids are home sick from their school. Fortunately neither one was vomiting. Dr called it pharyngitis.
My son hates missing school and soccer practice! There is NO WAY he is going until he is better!

24 hours after diagnosis and first dose of Tamiflu and temp is back to normal and the boy is feeling fine.
The doctor was right. So, parents, at the onset of the symptoms, gets the kiddos checked out and this will be nothing more then a 24-48 hr flu, max.
