98B CL Games of the Week for 9/12
D1 - Andro vs Solar Red
Solar Red appears to have upgraded this summer. A bout w/ a top three team will be a good yardstick.
D2 - Hurst U vs OC U
On the other hand, word has it that HU lost some ground at signing; Are they still ahead of a second tier team like OC?
D3 - ASG Gold W vs. FWFC White
FWFC challenged in but looks hot; ASG dropped in from D2 level; Is FWFC really ready to take over this division?

From the results FWFC keeps producing, they seem to be the team to beat going into the season. Its a long season so can they keep the wins coming?

Re: 98B CL Games of the Week for 9/12
I had a chance to watch them (FWFC) play against Solar98 Friday and then again in the quarters against Tigres on Sunday and I would think they would be favored to take D3. They have a very good goalie and quit a bit of speed! #2 up top can absolutely fly and their defense was solid, #18 and #5 were very impressive! Solar98 game was 1-0 with less than 5 minutes left but ended 3-0 and then lost to Tigres 1-0 on a well taken free kick from about 10 yards outside the 18. Was also extremely impressed with #6 and #11 in their midfield!
Just my opinion but I don't see their coach allowing them to have many let downs throughout the year.
I would say Solar to take D1, TFC to take D2 and FWFC to take D3. But with 12 year old soccer you never know what is going to happen.

I think I saw that Solar Red did indeed knock off Andro the Plano Labor day this weekend, so maybe that is a preview of next weekend? Solar may end up w/ two squads in D1 top five. Tigres are also looking good lately aren't they? Pumas did well down in Austin, but only beat D2 FCD Blue by 1. Tigres top five and Pumas second 5 for this year?

Re: 98B CL Games of the Week for 9/12
Here are my games of the week:
D1
Game 1-Andro v. Solar Red (Agree that SR seems to be playing well)
Game 2-TFC-R v. RP (I am still surprised at the fall of TFC-R...what's going on?)
D2
Liverpool v. DTR (I've heard that DTR got some upgrades from DT)
D3
ASG W v. FWFC (not sure it's gonna be much of a game based on FWFC's recent results...but this is when it matters)

Re: 98B CL Games of the Week for 9/12
yes, that Liverpool vs. DTR would be my second choice in D2. Have seen claims that DTR upgraded and that Liverpool may have lost a step, so should be a very even match if all that is true.

DTR got 2 from DT and picked up at least 1 good offensive player from outside the Texans. Remains to be seen if they have incorporated well and can play consistent ball. Developing good service and finishing seems to be the question mark.

Re: 98B CL Games of the Week for 9/12
I saw a few DTR games last year. It seemed to me that Connell was always playing for a 0-0 tie, maybe hoping for a breakaway goal. I never really saw an organized build up attack from them. If they do open up their offense with the addition of the new players, they should be able to increase their scoring significantly. However, they will also likely give up a few more goals, as well. It would be good to see them play to win - they should have the talent to challenge the top of D2.ball-coise is mhath wrote:DTR got 2 from DT and picked up at least 1 good offensive player from outside the Texans. Re: 98B CL Games of the Week for 9/12
Solar Red is definitely climbing the charts and proves this by going to finals against Solar. It can go either way and this weekend was a good indicator reflecting that. Andromeda beats TFC by 1 and Tigres beat Fort Worth FC (Div 3) team by one as well. I would put Pumas in the Top 5. It seems they did pretty well in Austin. Found out from reliable source that they won the Austin Labor Day Cup this weekend. So I would not be surprised if one day we see our predictions coming true or reflecting the total opposite. Look at last year, OC United beats Andromeda....we can never tell....Good Luck to everyone this coming weekend!Freeatlast wrote:I think I saw that Solar Red did indeed knock off Andro the Plano Labor day this weekend, so maybe that is a preview of next weekend?
