The link is to a good article about sports parents and how their behavior effects the kids. They asked current pro and college players what was the worst thing his/her parent did and the answer was " discussing the game in the car on the way home." Some other good info there as well.
I am guilty of some of this with my Academy age son and it is a good reminder.

Re: Sports Parents
That was a good article, thank you for posting it.
I've coached both of my children and I'll admit that I have a very difficult time switching off the "coach" mode when I should be in the "loving parent" mode. After reading that article I know I need to try harder at staying quiet.
I was left with some questions though.
My beef with this story though came in the very first sentence. "Hundreds of college athletes were asked" So wait... the focus group was all kids that went on to play on the college level? If the kids are still playing in college, doesn't that mean that the parents did something right? Given some of the other options (dropping out of school, drugs, crime, teenage pregnancy, etc) shouldn't these kids that became college-level athletes be considered a success?
I also want to know HOW these athletes were prompted for their reponses? Did they have to write in the phrase "The ride home from games with my parents." on a blank line without any prompts? Or was it multiple choice and "The ride home from games with my parents." was one of five options? If it was multiple choice, what were the other options that were available?
