SDL Week 1

What were some scores from D1-D3 in SDL this past weekend, 2/25?

this was actually week 2 for several of the teams...

week 1: TFC Ozcomert v. DT Shamu 3-3 tie. (just too darn cold out there for the boys to function properly)

Week 2: TFC Ozcomert v. FCD Predators 5-0 TFC

Where are the SDL standings? Very Quiet here. Why? No posts about the FC Dallas new super league (03's)??? Odyssey still #1 & trying not to rub it in? :)

the board is way too quiet. I have had to find my entertainment in the 04 thread.

You know it Odie. Over heard a parent telling another parent not to give out any info on the forum. What's the secret? 03 lurkers being shushed? Or in fear? Or ashamed?

I agree with you Odie it is more entertaining reading the 04 and 02 threads. When will the 03 board get existing?

Ody 03's not in SDL. Undefeated in "super" league.

Yes the Odyssey '03 team is competing in the FCDallas new league and really enjoying the competition. If you're familiar with the FCD facilities in Frisco, they're top shelf and the compentition is pretty good. My BB enjoys playing on the turf under the lights. Odyssey has won all three of their matches. Caught FCD Premier at a time when a couple/few of thier top players were down with the flu. Was a fun match none the less but not going to pretend FCD was near full strength. Looking forward to the rematch in a couple weeks. Odyssey and Solar-Castro met up for a scrimmage/game in Keller last night (Sunday March 25). Was a fantastic time socializing after the game. The kids played for at least an hour afterwards and we all enjoyed a cookout. Coaches, Players, and Parents all seemed to enjoy the event. Planning on doing it again in a few weeks. These two teams (Odyssey and Solar-Castro) flat out get after it on the pitch. Fun to watch. Odyssey squeeked out a narrow victory this time. Looking forward to the next matchup. My BB tells me he has butterflies in his belly when he learns that his team is playing one of the areas top ranked teams. I tell him that's a good thing.

How do we find out when the games are in this league? Thought about going to see how the competition is compared to SDL.

Fri Mar 30: 7:30 DSC vs Ody 7:30 Solar Gold vs FCD Premiere
Sat Mar 31: 6:00 Ody vs Solar Gold 7:30 DSC vs FCD Premiere
April 21 6:00 & 7:30 games
April 28 6:00 & 7:30 games
May 5 6:00 & 7:30 games

Field 10, Pizza Hut Park.

I'm sure the competition in SDL is similar when its Gall, DTS, Castro, DSC, others. Its my understanding that they had to carve out field time from a very busy schedule, so they really had to limit the # of teams to just a handful.

"Good" is in eye of beholder Had some hamburgers scorched down to silver dollar size briquettes and some illicit red solo cup action. Nobody yelled at me. Did not set fire to fields. So am considering it a success.

Careful Soccerdad if the mangaement finds out your playing teams not invited to the party, Snell might uninvite you to the new leauge.

I filed the paperwork in triplicate and filled out the TPS forms so I think we got a waiver.

No idea what the scoop is on any of the coach/coach or whatever rivalries. Both DC and MS seem very agreeable in the limited off-field exposure that I've had. The nice thing about being hicks from sticks is we don't have enough familiarity to breed contempt. We hope. I'm sure with enough time, and enough F bombs dropped by some random idiot associated with our group, and that will change.
