00 Classic Scores 3/4/12

FCD East 2-2 Dallas Texans(Maric). Any more D1-D3 scores?

TFC Blue 2-1 FWFC

HUFC 4-0 Liverpool

Aztecas 5-1 TFC White

D1 Wizards 1 TFC 0

Two very different results in the Aztecas game this weekend. Anyone see either of those games as the scores don't really make sense. Are they just playing inconsistently? Any insight?

Dont know about the TFC White game, but have a friend who has a kid on TFC Blue which lost 2-1 to Aztecas, he said easily could have went either way with TFC Blue missing 2 or 3 point blank shots at the goal kicking them right to the goalie. Blue is really not a bad team, went through some injuries in the fall and got in a hole in the standings, but when they are on the defense is stingy and can compete wth any team in d-3. As for TFC White heard they are on the decline, having lost 2-3 players to the no pay, no play club policy, and seem to be on the decline. No doubt about Aztecas though they have some big kids and they are studs and will put you away if you dont fight back, my sons D-1 team played them last year in the North Texas State Cup and barely beat them 1-0

Aztecas are impressive. Everyone knows they are a physically dominant team with their size and speed. they also pass well, can move the ball around the field quickly and play long accurate passes. they generate a lot of scoring opportunities and convert their chances at a pretty high ratio. You must be ready to weather the onslaught early and keep the scoring down with solid defense to stay in the game. If you don't then they just pull away. I saw some of the TFC White game. White generated some good scoring chances early (including a good shot off the post) but just couldn't finish. They put up a good fight but just got worn down as the game went on.

Aztecas and Hurst have been the most consistent teams from the fall season through the spring and have separated from the pack in D3. Hurst is a really solid team with lots of skill and good coaching. they can match up better physically to Aztecas than most teams in D3. These teams play each other last game of the season which should decide 1st place. should be a great game.

I didn't mean to imply anything about TFC Blue. Sorry about that as I realize now that my statement probably read more as a judgment on their standing than as a question about the consistency of the Aztecas. I did see a little bit of the TFC Blue game vs. Hurst and, you're right, their place in the standings does not tell the whole story of that team. They moved the ball well and had several players (a couple on offense, one particular defender, and a keeper were the ones who stood out during the time I was there) who could easily be playing at a different level. It's a shame that they find themselves in a situation that might potentially lead to challenge games. Have to wonder if they will hold together as a lot of teams in that situation fall apart. As for the Aztecas, their scores for the most part indicate something really strong is happening on the field. As mentioned by another poster, that last game when they play Hurst should be a great one to go and watch as it should be the determiner for first place in d3.
