Is FC Bachman Lake eligible to challenge for a spot in Classic?

Thats the million dollar question..... Anyone know how to find out if they will be allowed to challenge since they forfeited out of the qualification tournament last August?

I am sure that the League is not going to consider the anonymous postings from this site, but I personally think they should be. Was it the team manager's fault that they didn't show up for a game? Absolutely. Was the League right to bounce them last year? Yes. Were there extenuating circumstances (i.e., times changed after the schedules were released)? Yes. Should the kids get penalized more because an adult blundered? No. LET THEM PLAY!

If we could get this weekends results? a lot of this is moot. AC Longview could overtake Bachman Lake and none of this matters! Why can't we get results faster?

Rumor has it that B Lake didn't exactly keep their nose clean after schedule blunder. Leaving FCD White and AC Longview battling it out for spot in classic tourney.

Results are posted. No way that Bachman Lake will drop out of the top two. Tight race for 3rd place. One point separates 3rd & 4th with one game to play.

Who knows, if they take out Bachman, FCD White & ACL will get the invites.

That's pretty vague.

You're right. The rumor is they used a player/players from another teams roster without the proper releases etc. I dont know this for fact. But they seemed to be doing well before that. And how could it just be the team managers fault to miss the Qualifing Tournament?

What about FCD Red? At this point if they take out Bachman, wouldn't be FCD Red and FCD White.

My understanding is that they showed for the first game. Then the schedule was changed as CL moved games around to try to avoid some of the heat. The manager didn't check the schedule and didn't see the changes (CL actually sent out emails warning all the managers to do so) -- they actually showed up at the right time and field on the original schedule for their second game, only to find out that they already had forfeited it.

From what is on the Classic League website they will be inviting 3 from PPL. Right now it would be FCD Red, FC Bachman, & FCD White. If they exclude Bachman then the invitees would include AC Longview as of today.

Just curious, how does Arlington play into all of this? Can the top teams challenge? Do they have to wait until next year?

Top 3 from PPL, top 3 from APL, and bottom two from Classic D2 will play in a challenge tournament. Two 4 team brackets. Top two in each bracket after 3 games play, and the winner of those two games gets into Classic for next season.

Thanks for clarifying. Is this tournament played soon or do they wait till closer to the fall CL season.

So 3 teams of 19 from Plano Div 1 and 3 teams of 6 from Arlington Div 1 go to qualifying. How is that fair? So if there were only 3 in Arlington all 3 would go. I cant see the rational in that.

I think Arlington originally was 13 teams but split up into two divisions after the Fall.
