Just wondering how many of those kids who represented us these past few days for a spot in this year's Olympics went through the ODP program.....will have to wait another 4 years.

That was an EMBARRASSING result for the US U-23 team against ES.

Why is a COLLEGE coach running the team?

US team thought they had it all wrapped up and despite coming back to overcome the deficit they did not play with the same intensity for the last minutes of the game. Got to give it to their opponents, they never gave up.

What a joke the National team is! We lose against a nation that has less that 6 million pleople. US has more than 50 times their populations. We should be able to field a team better than that. El Sal was more physical even though they were smaller.
Then 2-0 against Canada!
This is what happens when you select athletes and then try to teach them soccer.

Actually, they tied. Nevertheless, it felt like a defeat....better this way, why travel overseas to be humiliated by the traditional powerhouses?

On the point about population....glad that's a non-factor the majority of the time, otherwise, China would win every single world cup and Uruguay would never have a chance.......but I think I follow your logic in terms of available soccer resources.

On the athletes selection....total agreement.

What a difference 26 days makes.... It seems like just yesterday when the US was on it's way to winning the next two World Cups after defeating Mexico and Italy!
