Maybe they will cancel the early games, or move them to a later time?

Re: Are we going to play?
If you go to the CL website on the schedules page the moves were already done. They moved most D2 games from PHP to Richland to the back fields.
Good luck tomorrow finding your team and field.

Re: Are we going to play?
PHP needs to hire some new grounds keepers. No reason any field shouldn't be ready to go after 2 full days without rain. It's not like a hurricane came through there. Did some fool forget to shut off the timed sprinklers yesterday or something?

Re: Are we going to play?
For what we spend on soccer, there should always be competitive activities every weekend. The Classic League needs to realize that parents like me that live vicariously through their kids need to have some meaningful activity every weekend.
Here are a few suggestions for rainy days:
1. Bobbing for Apples: This requires little set up and you can even use the runoff from the fields. This activity also allows for parents to shout like insane fools. "Come on pick it up! What are you doing? Quit being scared, just go through the apple!"
2. Beauty Pageant: This way parents could brag to relatives that my child is one of the best looking players of all of North Texas. The subjectiveness of a beauty pageant would also allow for lots of second guessing of whether or not the League rigged the results. Great opportunity for scandals and Obsessed Soccer Moms.
3. Academic decathlon: This could turn into a revenge of the bench players. "My son might not be the leading scorer, but he just made your superstar look like a third grader"
For the parents that do not live through their children, the following activities might be nice:
1. Soccer Mom mud wrestling.
2. Financial Planning Seminars. This would help us to afford club soccer.
It doesn't bother me that PHP does not want to tear up its soccer fields, but for the couple of grand that we shell out, let's put that paved parking lot to good use.

Have you walked outside on grass anytime in the last week? My lawn still squishes when I walk on it. I work up towards Frisco and several people that live up there have told me their lawns are like swamps. They had a lot of saturating rain. PHP had over 5 inches the prior week, and a decent amount this past Tuesday. Richland hasn't had near that much recent rain - maybe 2-2.5 inches over the past two weeks. Most of the heavy stuff stayed up north the last few storms. And with cloudy weather and 80+% humidity like we've had, the ground is not going to dry out on it's own. Friday was the first decent day we've had for drying weather.
I will admit that after the fiasco from the horrible field conditions from early 2008, PHP is probably trying to play it a little safe. But I don't think that this situation is an issue because of the groundskeepers.

Re: Are we going to play?
I have to agree with Swindler on this one. This morning Field 11 at Richland was were soggy and deep. Warming up the goalie for 5 minutes at the same spot and the grass became mud another 5 minutes mud became a puddle.

Just came back from a game at Warren (next to PHP), fields were very muddy.
As much as I hate for games to be cancelled, I agree with the decision by PHP, its not going to rain forever, when they open the fields, these will be in good condition.
