The soccer community has lost a great friend.
For those of you that knew Joel, I wanted to let you know he passed away Saturday morning. Joel did a great job with children in our soccer world. At Sole Roll he would establish evening pick up games where kids would play 4v4 or many 3v3 small sided games, depending upon the amount of people who showed up. He also did this at times on Sundays as well. Joel always managed to keep the competition friendly while making the games highly spirited at the same time. I know that for some he would allow payment to slide. He was very unselfish. He really enjoyed what he was doing. He only had kind words for everyone and about everyone. For those who wish to pay their respects, The North Dallas Funeral Home will be open from 5-8pm Wednesday, 7/4/12. Joel will truly be missed.

Very sad to hear this. My son had received skill instruction from him at Sole Roll. Was one of the best skills coaches around. Big loss - will hate to break this to my son tomorrow - he thought highly of Joel Lilavois. He was always positive.

Joel and his smile will be greatly missed. Always very encouraging and enthusiastic in everything he did.
He has touched the lives of so many of us in a very positive way. Thank you for everything you have done. My boys will miss you. RIP, my friend.
