03 PrimeTime 9/8

Should be a good week in the 03b PrimeTime league:

Solar Chelsea 03 v FCDP 03
Odyssey 03 v Solar Castro 03
Solar Chelsea Gold 03 v Andro 03 Kunitz
Solar Red 03 Bates 03 v Dallas Texans 03 Thornber

I heard Solar Red dropped out of that league. anyone know for sure?

They did drop out, Primetime is looking to replace them and we are awaiting a reply on who we are to play this weekend, but not counting on anything. If they do get another team, I will let you know who it is.

So are they going to SDL or trying to find a league on the thier side of town? Interesting they dropped out so late.

Super excited about getting the schedules one week at a time. Solar Red dad who is friend (GK on men's team) has no idea what they are doing, he thought they were in this league. Said they have lots of kids. I don't think there are leagues on this side of town.

Wonder if they have considered asking a non-boys team to be 8th?

SDL schedules are out and have them there.

Why wouldn't FC Dallas Premier '03's consider this league again?

Yeah, I read somewhere that an 03 girls's team is looking for some competition.

The full season schedule is now up and Solar Red is in there every week. Would kind of hope that means they are actually playing.

Slim to none. I checked SDL schedule and they have a game almost at the same time. They really screwed up this Primetime thing. Looks like my Saturday is open. Golf anyone?

We have to have enough adults here to figure something out. Heck, they move our Castro game to 6:40 and we'll pull an Ernie Banks. (well, maybe not on this short of notice, but its not that ridiculous).

So did Solar Red show up for their match? And I thought classic league was slow in posting scores.

Yeah, they showed up for their match. The one in SDL at 4:15 in the Colony. I don't think anyone associated with Solar Red thinks they are playing in this league.

It seems like between the various adults we should be able to come up with a recommendation to Primetime whereby somebody plays a doubleheader every week with some downtime in between and a bit of an eye towards avoiding two uber-tough matches in the same day. Just to avoid this mess. That or bring in anybody who wants a free game every week. DTS, Lightning, D3 '02 team, etc.

Shrug, whichever, I don't mind staying home to watch BYU game that day either.

Wish the girls would play in SDL. Parents raved how much fun the boys had playing against them (even though they got defeated twice by SRSA).

Well, either way, the (debatably) strongest 03 boys league needs a team. I'm sure SRSA would win (some?/all?/whatever) games in this league. If they are looking for tougher competition this might fit the bill if they could fit it into their schedule. Might not. Primetime might not allow it either.

Anybody looking for a fairly challenging (and perhaps cheap, I don't know) Saturday league may want to contact Primetime. Odd # of teams kind of stinks.

100% correct. Brandon at Primetime stated other coaches would not allow it. SDL would not allow it either. Thus the reason they are playing UAL/boys.

I think as long as you look at them as "Girls" and "Boys" teams you are always going to have some reasonable "Con" arguments from the league, or coaches, or whomever for keeping them separate. Not the least of which is "parents are stupid". (Not our parents, mind you, they are all at home working on combinatorial mathematics in their spare time).

If you look at them as "kids" it shouldn't matter, just play soccer.

The problem is it is a lose lose for coaches and players (boys) if the boys win they were supposed to beat the girls if they lose then they suck regardless if the girls team is good or not (and for a girls team are excellent and as a team against boys are good)

IMO that is one of the "reasonable" arguments against having SRSA play boy's leagues. The other side of the fence is "its a game against a good soccer team of kids your age". Which kind of seems like the goal. You are always going to lose some games that people may expect you to win.

I do think its doing the girls more of a favor than the boys, as pretty much all the boys teams can find good competition somewhere in the status quo. Not everybody is equally lovable to all, so not unreasonable that some folks may not want to do some other folks favors.

We'll see what shakes out with the league. Probably rain is this week's winner.

Odd. Schedule shows on 9/15 Solar Bates was to play Andro. However, I saw the SRSA girls playing and beating Andro 4-1. Looks like Primetime found the fill in team.

hey we got it...SRSA is a great team. you can beat boy teams.

I do not think anyone on this board ever said they would not win.
