Nice
This is really cool--for Liverpool FCA, and all soccer in the area. We need more of this.

Re: Liverpool FC America to launch Semi-pro team in 2013
I do think this is exciting news and a nice step forward for Liverpool.
After reading the article though I wondered, "How are these teams funded?" The 3 other expansion clubs described in the article are not close by. Just for visting those 3 teams the travel expenses are going to be BIG. Can a team like this (realistically) generate enough revenue to even cover their costs? If they can't, where will the overages come out of?

way to go LP. Let's see what willy wonka can do. This could be a big move. Sign young players to semi pro and give them minute so they can develope into pro's. Hey maybe even drop a LP player or two on the roster. Hmmm bypassing the AL and sticking it too FCD at the same time. Interesting

Hopefully they will go with a young squad. Signing Luna and Leyva would be nice. Get them some minutes and hopefully sell them off showing a different(better?) path to a pro career than FCD

three interesting components of the league:
1. Teams comprised of players holding amateur playing status (high school, collegiate and former professional athletes)
2. Players maintain college eligibility and play at an elite level with a mix of young and veteran players
3. Showcase for players who aspire to move to the professional level

LMAO from the looks of it they couldn't win this league either. It does look like NY red bulls are in it. Might explain some of their success of promoting players

NPSL is roughly equivalent to the PDL (USL) Although the teams in the NPSL don't pay the same franchise fees. Much less expensive. My understanding that this is essentially a summer league. Yet another venue for college players trying to get noticed.
NPSL is also not technically a 'U23' league that PDL says it is. I think PDL teams can have 6-8 overage players on roster. It seems the majority of the better PDL teams have over 23 players on the roster.
Sounds like a great development tool though.

Re: Liverpool FC America to launch Semi-pro team in 2013
I am all for somebody opening another avenue for players. The AL and homegrown status is pushing too much power to FCD. Almost giving them the attitude that is doesn't matter what the do, when it comes time that it really matters they feel like they can pull the talent anyway. Hopefully this grows and gives NTX kids a little more power to say I don't really like what you are doing for me. I think I will try this guy.

Why Plano!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Excited about the new Liverpool team, etc. But WHY are the going to play their games in PLANO? According to the Liverpool FCA website, they'll play at Jack Clark Stadium in Plano. Once again, a DFW soccer organization cuts off more than half of their potential fanbase.
The tryouts are to be held in Euless. Why? Because it makes sense to locate centrally. . . Why not play the games somewhere in the middle? There have been many weekends that our family had planned on going to see FC Dallas, but when it came down to it (after driving to Richland College already), we didn't want to make the haul out to freakin' Frisco. . .
While I'm ranting. . . Why is there such an aversion at the Select/Club level to the mid cities? Tons of kids (lots of money), I don't get it.
