A step in the right direction?

U11
•Each team will have the chance to enter into the placement tournament to help determine the team placement for D1, D2, D3 (D4 if applicable)
•Any team that chooses not to participate will automatically be placed in the lowest division
•D1 will have 10 teams, D2 will have 10 teams the remainder of the team will be placed in D3 or D4 if applicable
•Byes maybe be issued by VP of Competitive.

U12-U14
•Each of these age groups will have 10 teams in D1 and D2 and the remainder of the teams will be placed in D3 or D4 if applicable
•All teams must have N+1 from the Spring Roster as of April 1, 2012 to be considered for a BYE.
•From the F12/S13 standings the top 10 teams in D1 will receive a BYE and will be F13’s D1
•If a PPL D1 top 10 team does not return or makes Classic/Lake Highlands we will accept a Classic or Lake Highlands team in their place. With N+1
•4 BYES will be given in D2 leaving 6 places for qualification. Team’s in 11th and 12th place from F12/S13 D1 will be offered a BYE and 2 other BYES will be offered at the discretion of the VP Competitive, this may include the top teams from D2.
•At the end of the fall season awards will be presented to the top 2 teams in D1 and D2
•Then the top two teams in D2 will be promoted to D1 and the bottom two teams in D1 will be relegated to D2. All points will be removed.
•At the end of the spring season awards will be given to the top 2 teams in D1 and D2
*D3/D4 groups may not have parity of play

U15-U16
•Each of these age groups will have 9 teams in D1 and D2 (if we have enough) and the remainder of the teams will be placed in D3 or D4 if applicable
•All teams must have N+1 from the Spring Roster as of April 1, 2012 to be considered for a BYE.
•From the F12/S13 standings the top 9 teams in D1 will receive a BYE and will be F13’s D1
•If a PPL D1 top 10 team does not return or makes Classic/Lake Highlands we will accept a Classic or Lake Highlands team in their place. With N+1
•4 BYES will be given in D2 leaving 5 places for qualification. Team’s in 10th and 11th place from F12/S13 D1 will be offered a BYE and 2 other BYES will be offered at the discretion of the VP Competitive, this may include the top teams from D2.

U17-U19
•If there are more than 18 teams there will be a placement tournament.

PPL Playing format for 13/14 Season Empty RE: PPL Playing format for 13/14 Season

Post by SoccerXXX 12/27/2012, 11:13 am

I do think this is a good step forward. Make PPL more competitive within divisions in both the fall and spring seasons. This said it is the spring season that matters most from a promotion perspective as points are wiped at the end of the fall season.

I do think the wording is interesting about promotion / relegation to and from LH/Classic. Not sure if that was worded intentionally or not.
