97B PPL Group 1 Final Fall Standings Prediction
1. Monterrey – forthcoming wins over Xtreme and Solar Gold to finish 8-0-1 = 25 points
2. FWUNB – fall season concluded 6-0-3 = 21 points
3. Solar Gold – will beat Solar Silver and lose to Monterrey 6-1-2 = 20 points
4. TLSC – fall season concluded 5-3-1 = 16 points
5. TFC White – will beat Nationals FC 5-4-0 = 15 points
6. ASG – will win their last game with Nationals 4-4-1 = 13 points
7. Xtreme – assume they won Saturday and will lose to Monterrey 3-5-1 = 10 points
8. Nationals – will lose to ASG 1-6-2 = 5 points
9. Solar Silver – will lose to Solar Gold 1-7-1 = 4 points
10. Nationals FC - assume a loss Saturday to Xtreme and loss to TFCW 0-9-0 = 0 points
The top 3 have clearly separated themselves from the pack with a second grouping of strong teams less than two games back. The fall finale dramatically comes down to Solar Gold vs. Monterrey on Dec 3. Given the fact that Solar Silver held Monterrey to a mere 3-1 win this past Saturday and Solar Gold was held to a 1-1 tie with TLSC (Congrats Silver and TLSC) makes this game even more interesting to me. If Solar Gold could manage what I'll call a slight upset over Monterrey, the top three would be Solar 23, Monterrey 22, FWU 21. If they happen to tie, Monterrey 23, FWU 21, Solar 21. Could it be any tighter? Sets up for an exciting spring campaign where it’s there for the taking for whoever wants it most.

Re: 97B PPL Group 1 Final Fall Standings Prediction
What's the story line on Monterrey? Who are they? Where are they based? etc.
I'm assuming TLSC is/was Ayses Gold?
Sorry for the questions, I've been out of it for a few months.

Good ? on Monterrey. All I can say is they are a very well coached, disciplined and skilled team that appears to be sponsored by a giant food coporation in Mexico called Bimbo. Have no idea where they came from or where they are based.

Spring Season
With 9 games to play, the top 6 are within reach of each other with primarily the 2nd spot in question now unless Monteray has major drop in Spring. With that being the case, TLSC/AYSES and/or TFC White need to pick up at least 2 wins (6 points) more than Solar Gold and FWU Blue in Spring. Not an easy task but if it may come down to who is best prepared for the Spring. It is certainly possible that teams can do better in Spring than Fall and visa versa.

Re: 97B PPL Group 1 Final Fall Standings Prediction
Well said Soccernovice. Last year FCD Black and FWUB were atop the standings after the fall session and neither finsished in the top two. If I remember correctly, CDI and ASG came from 4th and 5th respectively to earn the two spots. However, there was only a 6 point spread among the top 6 teams and there were only 5 games played in the spring. Lot's of Futbol left!!!Soccernovice wrote:With 9 games to play, the top 6 are within reach of each other with primarily the 2nd spot in question now unless Monteray has major drop in Spring. Close Games in Fall
There were some close games with 1 goal differential in Fall that could go another way next Spring. Key will be consistency and intensity of play game to game for top 2 teams in Spring.
