It looks like there will be points kept for each bracket, but no actual tournament winner.

This was taken from the tournament rules section:

A 10 Point Scoring System will be used as follows:
WIN – 6 POINTS
TIE—3 POINTS
LOSS—0 POINTS
SHUT OUT—1 POINT
GOALS (MAXIMUM OF 3)—1 POINT EACH
Any team that suffers a forfeit within their bracket will be awarded a 3-point shutout=10 points.

My predictions for each bracket:

Platinum:

1) FC Dallas Premier -tough game against Bates, wins bracket
2) Solar Red Bates - strong showing
3) Dallas Texans Badii - close for third with Central
4) FC Dallas Central - loses game against Badii for Third
5) AYSES Gold - Will lose all 4 games

Gold:

1) Liverpool Elite - Top three will compete with Elite getting the points to win
2) Andromeda - close
3) FC Dallas Pritchett - strong showing, but still claims third
4) FW Juventus will win the Juventus battle
5) Dallas Juventus - will struggle a bit in the bracket

Silver:

1) Dallas Texans Faber - Close vs Barnes and Figo
2) Liverpool Barnes - Barnes loses to Faber in close one, just gets by Figo
3) FC Dallas Figo - two tough losses to Barnes and Faber
4) Blackhawks - competitive, but wins only one
5) AYSES Black - loses all 4, but not embarrassed.

Bronze A

1) Liverpool St John - will win all four
2) FC Dallas North Blue - gets second with win over DT
3) Dallas Texans Jocobo - close loss to FCD to finish third
4) AFC Black - struggles a bit in all four

Bronze B

1) Liverpool Toshack - tight game with NTX Strikers goes to Toshack
2) NTX Strikers Blue - will go 3-1 with loss to Toshack
3) TASC Eagles - close win over FC Dallas White
4) FC Dallas White - will lose in bracket, but gets in over AFC Black.

So far guess some teams proved your predictions wrong. FC Premier and Bates tie. And FC Figo wins over Liverpool Barnes. Many new players = hard predictions

Well, the teams have to actually play the games. AYSES Gold also got a win over DR Badii, 3-0.

Should be a lot of fun this weekend, hopefully no rain.

King TUT Posted Brackets Empty King Tut gets it right

Post by PremierLeagueFan 7/21/2013, 1:15 pm

It looks like Ayses Gold, Solar Bates and FC Dallas Central are well matched in the Platinum Division.

I would say that Liverpool Elite should have been in the Platinum instead of Dallas Texans Red who would have fared better in the Gold Division.

Gold Division is well matched sans Liverpool Elite, but I would have swapped Figo into Gold and Juventus into Silver.

Nothing Surprising in the Silver Division with Figo, Barnes, and Faber, however Faber vs Barnes will be a great game to watch and will decide the Silver #2 and #3 positions.

In the Bronze it's Toshack and St. John, but the rest of the field is well balanced and playing even so it will be interesting to see these teams compete for the #3 spot in the Bronze Division

Someone predicted NSYSA Juventus '03 Boys to finish 2nd-to-last in '03 Gold Bracket at King Tut Friendlies, but team actually finished 2nd, losing only to Liverpool Elite (RASE?) in a match that was 1-0 for 59 minutes. Team gave up 0 first half goals and with only 2 subs in non-wins will probably be considered a player in upcoming QT. Not sure if it's better to stay under the radar and surprise others. In any case, proud of the boys and the effort. Good luck to all teams, but there can only be 20 DI and 10 DII for Fall CCSAI League.

King TUT Posted Brackets Empty King Tut was a good tournament

Post by PremierLeagueFan 7/21/2013, 9:44 pm

I think that NSYSA Juventus was well positioned in the Gold Division and I am not surprised that they gave Elite a strong challenge. NSYSA Juventus played consistently and earned the #2 spot against a strong field that was evenly matched (except for Juventus who would been more competitive in the Silver Division).

Elite Should have placed in the Platinum Division, but I would have liked to see DT Red and FC Dallas Figo in the Gold Division because they are playing at the same level.

Juventus is a fine club and I don't see this team as under the radar. Based on this weekend's performance it is getting clear that we will have a competitive CCSAI qualifying tournament with good representation by club teams that some may regard as under the radar, but as you know that is only because they haven't played each other lately and don't have a current reference.

King TUT Posted Brackets Empty Predictions vs Actuals

Post by soccerdad68 7/22/2013, 12:22 am

My predictions for each bracket:

Platinum:

1) FC Dallas Premier -tough game against Bates, wins bracket
2) Solar Red Bates - strong showing
3) Dallas Texans Badii - close for third with Central
4) FC Dallas Central - loses game against Badii for Third
5) AYSES Gold - Will lose all 4 games

1: FC DALLAS YOUTH 03B PREMIER (TXN) 3-1-0 22 Goals For 4 Goals Against 33 Points
2: SOLAR RED 03B BATES (TXN) 3-1-0 12 Goals For 3 Goals Against 32 Points
3: AYSES 03 BOYS GOLD (TXN) 1-1-2 6 Goals For 13 Goals Against 16 Points
4: FC DALLAS YOUTH 03B CENTRAL (TXN) 0-2-2 5 Goals For 15 Goals Against 11 Points
5: DALLAS TEXANS 03B RED (TXN) 0-1-3 3 Goals For 13 Goals Against 6 Points

Basically had AYSES Gold and DT Red flipped. FCD Premier really separated themselves from the competition even with the tie to Solar Bates. If you take away a few of the lopsided Premier wins, this was a very competitive group.

1: LIVERPOOL FC AMERICA 03 BOYS ELITE (TXN) 4-0-0 15 Goals For 1 Goal Against 38 points
2: NSYSA FW JUVENTUS '03 (TXN) 2-1-1 6 Goals For 3 Goals Against 23 points
3: ANDROMEDA 03 BOYS (TXN) 2-0-2 5 Goals For 7 Goals Against 18 points
4: FC DALLAS 03B RED (PRITCHETT) (TXN) 1-1-2 5 Goals For 9 Goals Against 14 points
5: JUVENTUS 03B (TXN) 0-0-4 1 Goal For 12 Goals Against 1 point

The surprise here was FW Juventus. Very scrappy club that had a real good tournament. Win over Andromeda was solid (and screwed up a perfect prediction for the bracket) moving them into the number two spot.

1: FC DALLAS YOUTH FC DALLAS 03 BOYS FIGO (TXN) 4-0-0 12 Goals For 3 Goals Against 34 Points
2: LIVERPOOL FC AMERICA 03 BOYS BARNES (TXN) 3-0-1 15 Goals For 4 Goals Against 28 Points
3: DALLAS TEXANS 03 BOYS FORT WORTH (TXN) 2-0-2 8 Goals For 5 Goals Against 20 Points
4: BLACKHAWKS FC 03B WHITE (TXN) 1-0-3 6 Goals For 9 Goals Against 13 Points
5: AYSES 03 BOYS BLACK (TXN) 0-0-4 0 Goals For 20 Goals Against 0 Points

Overall very close to prediction. This was definitely going to be a three team race, and Figo came out on the right side of two tough 2-1 victories. Faber played well, but Barnes and Figo were both better, at least where it counts (balls that go into the net). Play this bracket three different times and you would probably get three different results.

Bronze A

1) Liverpool St John - will win all four
2) FC Dallas North Blue - gets second with win over DT
3) Dallas Texans Jocobo - close loss to FCD to finish third
4) AFC Black - struggles a bit in all four

1: 03 BOYS ST JOHN (TXN) 4-0-0 14 Goals For 2 Goals Against 36 Points
2: AFC 03B BLACK (TXN) 2-0-2 9 Goals For 7 Goals Against 19 Points
3: FC DALLAS YOUTH 03B NORTH BLUE (TXN) 1-0-3 6 Goals For 10 Goals Against 12 Points
4: DALLAS TEXANS 03 RED FTW (TXN) 0-0-4 2 Goals For 21 Goals Against 2 Points

AFC Black was the surprise for this bracket. A team that looked weak during the Spring looks to have picked up a little talent going to select. DT Red FW, however, looked pretty outmatched in all four games. Playing in this heat with no subs is brutal. St Johns was probably playing in a bracket or two too low.

LIVERPOOL FC AMERICA 03B TOSHACK (TXN) 4-0-0 15 Goals For 2 Goals Against 36 Points
2: NORTH TEXAS STRIKERS NTX STRIKERS 03B BLUE (TXN) 3-0-1 11 Goals For 4 Goals Against 29 Points
3: FC DALLAS YOUTH 03B WHITE (TXN) 2-0-2 8 Goals For 12 Goals Gainst 19 Points
4: TEAM AMERICA TASC 03 EAGLES (TXN) 0-0-4 1 Goals For 8 Goals Against 1 Point.

Missed the game between FC Dallas White and TASC Eagles. Other than that, pretty close to prediction. TASC had what had to be a frustrating tournament. After losing to FC Dallas, they lost to the three top teams in bronze 1-0, 1-0, and 2-0. They played very tough on the defensive side against teams that were not having much problems scoring.

Overall, most of these teams played as expected. FCD Premier still looks Premier and Solar Bates looked solid. FW Juventus will not be flying under anyone'e radar at QT. AYSES Gold had a solid tournament and looks poised for QT as well. Liverpool Elite is probably a top 10 team. Figo, DT Faber and Liverpool Barnes are all three playing competitive at the moment. Liverpool St Johns, Liverpool Toshack and NTX Strikers Blue are all three good enough to challenge for spots at the Classic table as well...

This was a fun weekend..... QT in two weeks!!

King TUT and Puma Cup are "Tune Up" tournaments. The results will impact, to some degree, the seeding of the QT. Remember, all previous tournaments were before these teams had gone Select. This allows some viewability of how the teams may have changed with any new additions (or subtractions), so will carry much more weight than the previous tournaments in their decisions. With the number of teams that will be in the QT (40 or 50 if limited), it will be doubtful that you will see these same teams playing each other at all. The QT is also seeded differently. They won't have a "Platinum", "gold" etc. brackets. Every bracket will have a team that was a "top seed", "second tier seed", etc.

Yes.

CL did tell us that they would really only consider the "tune up" results if they were clear outliers from past year's results. We were told we would be seeded in a pretty narrow band whether we played in Puma/Tut or not. I guess we'd have been $595 ahead of the game if we had listened. In other breaking news, FCD has better drainage than other fields.

Good luck seeding the teams. I can do about the first 10 in order, and then its dart board time for the next 20, then complete shenanigans from there.
