WTF happened to Fox Soccer? Where did it go?

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
Looks like they pulled it off the air and replaced it with sitcoms. I found this though - pretty damn funny the way they just switch from showing Messi in a Barcelona match to Danny Devito looking like he's being given birth by a leather couch: How Fox Soccer dies:R1 wrote:WTF happened to Fox Soccer? Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
RIP Fox Soccer.
After 3 weeks of EPL on NBC Sports, I am very happy with the coverage. I still miss Ian Darke and Steve McManaman on the Saturday morning ESPN2 matches, but I like the game perspective of the local commentary offered by NBC.

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
This was being announced all summer so kind of surprised that you are this surprised about it. Fox had lost most of their soccer coverage. I think all that they have left is Champions League coverage and they will be moving that to Fox1 or Fox2.

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
I believe Fox just launched a 24 hour sports channel to compete with ESPN. Maybe the soccer programming went there to fill time?

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
FS1 did an adequate job on the WNT game tonight. Not a tough match for the commentators given the rout.

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
OK, after watching games under "the new system", I'm ready to render an opinion...
DO NOT LIKE.
What was so great about having the old "Fox Soccer" channels was it was non-stop soccer and soccer news. I had Fox Soccer, Bein, and Fox Soccer Plus all right in a row ( channel wise), and would never miss a match. More importantly you could always catch replays and every night I had my Fox Soccer News to watch. it was heaven.
NOW, I gotta look all over the place for games. You better have your DVR set, or you're gonna miss em. Soccer has become just another sport on a multi-sport channel, therefore its diluted and lost in the shuffle. I miss Fox Soccer news big-time!!! the hosts were fun and enthusiastic. Now I get some lame bunch of British stiffs, blandly going over the news. ( if I can actually find the show). I feel like I'm watching Sky Sports news, or BBC 1..... somebody needs to wake those folks up.
I have directv, so I get the NBC sports matches, but do not get the overflow matches they show on the "hd only" NBCsports extra channels. ( yes I'm getting my receiver upgraded soon,, but still, WTF)... I do love the NBC sports extra phone app., which streams all the games live, in amazing quality... BUT I got a notice last week that I was reaching 500 gigs of use, and even though I have unlimited, ATT was gonna throttle my bandwidth if I went over... ( bastards).
I also have come to realize that Eric Wynalda is the best "in-studio" commentator ever... I miss him terribly. I've now traded Wynalda, Rob Stone, Warren Barton, Bryan McBride, Danny Dichio, Bobby McMahon, Thomas Rogan and my favorite Lloyd Barker for an MLS player and some talking head. No offense to Kyle Martino and whoever that blond woman is... but just not the same...
So I guess I will be one of those old farts who will talk about how great "the old days" were when all the soccer you could watch was on three channels all day long.." There was a joy and love of soccer that those channels gave us. Now its all lost amid all the other sports I couldn't give two shits about.....
NBC sports has the EPL
Bein has LaLiga, Serie A, League 1.
Fox Sports1 has Champions League, the Euros, world cup qualifiers, national team games..
ugh... I want my MTV !!!!!!

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
This is the correct answer. They've announced the new FXX all summer to replace FSC. EPL has been on NBCSp along with some on FSSW, FS1 and FS2.odie1993 wrote:This was being announced all summer so kind of surprised that you are this surprised about it. Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
Yes, I/we knew about the changes… I have nothing against the NBC’s coverage of the EPL games…
I’ve a gazillion channels and nothing to watch... FSC was the only constant thing on the tube (old games, new games, news, expert opinions +…), I could always turn off the sound and put on Beethoven or Van Halen on the earphones (with Baltica #6 in one hand- of course) and be at peace…
Slakemoth & Finish1 (Go Canaries) said it RIGHT: “I want my,.. I want my,.. I want my FSC”…

Re: What happened to Fox Soccer!!
change is good sometimes. With NBC putting a game on regular tv every Saturday morning, it will reach a much larger US audience and more importantly more kids that want to watch the soccer.
