I pinch myself because I was lucky enough to watch them, both, play live.

Diego at '86 WC Final and '94 WC at the Cotton Bowl. Messi when he was 19 at the '07 Copa America. They "owned" the stadium crowd.

Like in Barquisimeto, Venezuela... score tied 0-0 between Argentina and Paraguay. The crowd starts chanting, "Messi, Messi, Messi...". In comes the 19 year old to score within minutes of entering the pitch. Goose bump kind of experiences.

Different eras, different players, different competition. If you watch both videos, there are a lot of similarities in their games.

Maradona's story has been written. Messi is still writing away.....

Both are just incredible to watch. Can't imagine the privilege of watching either in a match.
