TLSC 1 - Aces 1
TLSC scored on an own goal by Aces, and Aces scored on a PK. Both teams played really hard but the game kind of got out of control towards the end. TLSC coach darn near got a red card, then one player from each team was sent off with a few minutes left, apparently because the CR heard some bad language. CR called the game really tight, so I guess I can't be surprised at the send-offs. Still...
Congrats to Aces for their first point in the standings since moving up to Group 1.

Hoff - I'm not sure that I am surprised that the TLSC coach almost got red-carded. I heard he was about to pop his lid at the game against FWU on Wednesday. By the way, congrats to picking up a point so early in the spring season. While I wasn't at the FWU-Aces game yesterday, I heard you guys played much better together than when we met in the QT. Looks like your coach and kids have gelled pretty well together. Now please do me a favor and help a brother out and find a way to beat Solar Gold this week.
Soccermom, is this pretty standard from your coach to be so verbal or was it just these two games?

LOL. Wish I could help ya, but we'll have our hands full without the services of our normal center defender who got sent off today. Someone is going to have to step up in his place. If I do the math, we lost 3-0 to TFC, who just lost 4-2 to Solar Gold. We could be in trouble in this one...
The boys are doing a great job in adjusting to the stronger teams. I'm excited about our future. Sorry I missed you on Saturday. It was a much better game for us than it was last August to be sure.

Re: 97B PPL 2/27
Hoff - word I got after the game was that the cards weren't going to be officially submitted by the referee. You should have your manager check with PPL just in case. If he did submit them, apparently the language they exchanged would get them a 2 game suspension and not just one.
I'll plead the 5th on the question about our coach - not gonna put anything out there that can be misconstrued by all our friends on txsoccer and turn it into a 3 page discussion. Feel free to pm me though!!

Re: 97B PPL 2/27
Thanks for the comments soccermom. Not that transgressions should go unpunished, but two games seems rather harsh under the circumstances. Also, the CR never did show the red cards during the game, even though he ushered the boys directly off the field. Maybe that was the sign that they were "unofficial" ejections. Like, "You two are done for the game, go cool off somewhere". That makes a whole lot more sense to me based on the actions of the CR on the field. I hope you're right for both our teams' sake.

Re: 97B PPL 2/27
No, we confirmed after the game that they were for sure official red cards, even though he didn't show the boys the card (he said he didn't have to show it). He and our coach had a long discussion after the game and CR told our coach that he wasn't going to turn in the paperwork to PPL for the cards for whatever reason. I did not include them on the score sheet I turned in.

Unofficial red cards? What a load of garbage.
