I have a son who enjoys being keeper a great deal and excels at it. we've been told he is talented by one of his coaches and team parents. We are an average not overly competitive type family and have him in academy for the love of the game and no unrealistic goals. I've never really thought much of it until we've been approached after games by other teams/leagues wanting my son to play on their team. Is this normal behavior in Texas? We are fairly new to the area and very surprised by this. We started googling and found this forum and thought the people here could add some insight.

Talented keepers in this age group are hard to find. You would be proud that your son is getting recruited. If other teams are looking that's a good thing. I would look into all your academy options, there could be a club that would better for your childs coaching needs. There are clubs that have coaches and clinics specifically for keepers to develop their skills.. Recruiting is big in ntx soccer.. Our son is recruited after ever game he plays..
