This tournament will bring out the worst in coaches, yelling at refs trying to influence, yelling backhanded comments, mind games, and trick plays. Some justify saying they focus develop during the season but we all know from the amount of kickball their idea of development is the reason we suck as a soccer nation on men's side. Allegiance and Santos are the only QT teams that will play possession and passing, Depew will pass but rely on hero-ball for the most part. But not sure any of those three will win, as lucky bounce kick ball and yell at refs strategy has a tendency to eek out wins which is why all these lazy coaches do it. Everyone else sickens me with their kick ball mortgaging good soccer and USA's future for expedient wins and cheap trophies
Don't forget the Dallas Rebels, who use 2 '06 kids on their 09 team. They will definitley be in the mix.
Wow. Seriously???

100% agree Coterminous. until parents get educated on soccer and start demanding better development and play styles - moving their kid and money to coaches and programs who teach it - the usa will continue to be mediocre Coaches also need to start thinking bigger picture and not so focused on win at all costs

Yep. Playing Kickball in a crazy wind.
They also tied FC dallas who Allegiance beat, and tied OK who Allegiance beat.
If you want to move Allegiance down, go ahead. But I would not move Brazil up, based of their style of play.
I actually think everyone in top 5 can beat each other team. There is not dominant team yet in this age bracket.
But I do believe Tigres are number 1 right now.

1-Tigres FW
2-Ntx Santos
3-Allegiance
4-Solar Dudley
5-Brazil
Ranking based on results/standings. If team didnt play in this tournament most likely didnt have the committed players to do it.

I actually think it's funny that there are over 6 pages talking about ranking teams filled with 7-8 year olds. Wont matter much in a few years when most of these rosters will have turned over.

Well if we ruled out wins by crazy kick ball then most of the scores in tournament will be thrown out

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
Again, where is the focus? Wins and losses or coaching and development. Where are the threads with the mythical ranking of area coaches? I'd love to hear about how people view their coaches and what they do to develop their players. What methods, techniques, philosophy separates he or she from others?
The fact that people disagree on 7-8 yr old rankings and use qualifiers to explain is hilarious. If it's about wins and losses and not about development, why does it matter how a team wins? Kickball? Stiff wind?
When does rotating positions to become a complete player, teaching kids to have fun, and encouraging individual technique over tactical play encouraged?

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
I’m on mostly because it’s absurd. This isn’t my first time through this and I’m pretty sure that none of these teams will look remotely similar to the way they do now once it comes time for QT in 20 months.
Eventually these top kids will all find homes together....right now everyone is all spread out.
Aside from that, who cares if a team is 1, 3, 10 or 20 at u9? The kid’s don’t. It’s a means of making parents feel good about the money they are spending.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
I don't see the harm in personally ranking teams based out of results and play. These are obviously a biased opinion ranking, nothing legit about it. I'm sure if there was a coach ranking, or a best team development no one would agree. I'm also sure every parent would want thier kid to play in top club, coach,or team.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
All of these rankings are based on ‘what team is my kid on’.
Coach rankings would be no different. I’d love to see the unbiased opinion on coaches, but there are far too many on this board (let alone this thread) with an ax to grind. The whole thing just isn’t productive in any way to me.
At least the girls side at this age has FBR that actually takes into consideration every team’s full body of work, and has a legit formula.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
the idea of top 10 is always going to be around, ofcourse it entertaining. I coach a boys team (not 09s) n I can say our team would not be in the top 10 in our age group. We work and train a lot and I have seen a lot of improvement in my boys with . But to know u played one of the top 5 teams n played them hard and don't give up that itself is gratifying, we are hoping by next season fall people will see us as a top 10 team... no harm in having a top 10 for now its entertainment and nice to see what other fans think of your futbol

DT Densk over DTS this weekend. Where does that put DT Densk in the ranks? Has DT South lost players or is the tide turning?

I think both teams used guest players. So not sure what this tells us. But, as I said in an earlier post DT South has definitely lost some players, and is not the team is was previously.
