Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
these are 8 year old kids who love to play soccer. I guarantee you none of them on either side is even talking about the game(s) today. Let alone how goals were scored, were they long shots or build ups, etc. They all went to school and are looking forward to recess and having ice cream as a treat. The level of sour grapes and holier-than-tho is a bit much... They are also gonna high five the kids from other teams and still be friends.
Let the kids enjoy it at least for a bit longer before you ruin it w/ the sideline chaos

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
oh boy another troll. I hate trolls. Soccerknowledge101 go away. Your post doesn't even make sense. Plus team hoping is not bad thing at this age. NTX soccer locks players into contracts starting in U11 so if you don't look around before that you wont know anything, which seems apropos in your case. We found a home after a couple seasons of looking, nothing wrong with team hoping, why is there a sense this is bad? My gosh this isn't Game of Thrones. Seems like one of the Santos kids left your team and now you mad cause you BB's team not good anymore. Oh man let it go.
Besides Santos is a new team so they formed a team with kids that used to be on other teams. How else are they supposed to do it? Free rides? who wouldn't take that a free ride. see you make no sense. You have some false notion of tribe and tribal loyalty. let ask you you think the clubs are loyal back to you? ha wait until DA or ecnl when your kid doesn't make it because they found a better player off an independent team. I am so sick of people like you. You know nothing John Snow.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
I can tell you with 100% certainty - those kids were NOT told to NOT shake hands. Having said that - I'm not sure how it looked, the timing of kids milling around after the game, etc - but that was never the intention and it's a little silly to assert that is what was done and throw the team/coach under the bus like that.
Again, these kids are out there mostly oblivious to a "rivalry" or parents ill-will to other parents or coaches (or at least I can tell you how my kid usually thinks). If any of the kids are really upset at another team/coach - I can promise you that comes from the parents.

soccerknowledge101 I dont think Santos will fall apart. What is clear that some teams and parents feel so threatened they resort to nasty posts or is this part of the Dudley play book to get in their minds like the scoring from kick off cheap tactics ballerdad09 admitted. Just stop all the mind games and play soccer sound like Santos beat you when you didn't play mind games. Either way i don't care not my problem I just don't like trolls

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
10 Steps to Recognizing Yourself as a Crazy Soccer Parent:
1. You’ve ripped your child off a team that they are happy on and developing well with, because the (perceived) path to college is somewhere else (do this especially when they are around age 10, don’t want to miss the boat, and especially if a coach from another club is calling to recruit them)
2. You make sure that your kid knows that they are better than everyone else and talk down about and act superior to other kids on the team that you perceive as lessor. For extra good measure you make sure to organize events outside of the team that handpick only the kids you deem good enough because your kid only can be around the best to develop properly.
3. You worry about any perceived advantage that other kids are getting in any situation and make sure to point it out to the coach.
4. You treat your child as a bargaining chip and threaten to leave if your kid isn’t getting treated as something special.
5. You critique the coach’s knowledge of the game, or their methods of developing players. Make sure to do this especially if you’ve never played past the high school level, and your coach has played pro and go extra crazy if they aren’t winning every single championship. Development is great, but what’s development if they aren’t getting a trophy or medal and giving you some s* to brag about at the water cooler? You’re paying money for this!
6. You stand on the sideline and talk junk about other kids on the team. Extra bonus points if you yell negative things at other people’s kids.
7. You have your kid play 6 days a week and put so much pressure on your kid by talking about the games all the time and make every situation feel like life or death. You think to yourself, what’s with all this crazy talk about giving the kid time to be a child and enjoy the game? They are 11 and have big scholarships to get! Every second counts!
8. After every game, whether your child asks your opinion or not, you give them a detailed list of what they need to do better on the field and how they screwed up. Extra bonus points if you talk crap about their teammates and how some of them are just not good enough to be out there.
9. You bounce around from team to team, always looking for something better.
10. If anything ever goes wrong, you blame everyone else; the coach, the weather, how unfair the rules are, and make sure to take zero ownership over the situation. Extra bonus points if you encourage your kids to do the same.

Congratulations to all 4 teams that advanced. Each team is talented, each team has competitive sidelines, each team is well-coached, and each team is going to win it's fair share of games and tournaments. There are a lot of talented players on the rosters this weekend. I hope we as parents don't rob them of the happiness they get from playing the game with the sideshow that goes on behind the scenes.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
Coterminous, I realize you don't get this, but their is strategy in soccer, that is, just playing soccer. Â In the semi final game of Solar v Santos, one coach was out coached...
I can also guarantee you Dudley never told his boys to not shake hands. Â aarond0409 has no clue what they are talking about.. Â Solar Dudley always takes the high road in wins and losses. In fact, I personally saw many of the kids and parents from both sides talking and hanging out after Santos beat Solar earlier in the tournament, in the game you say Dudley told his boys not to shake hands. Â This is so pathetic and nothing more than you trying to paint a bad picture of Solar Dudley. Â You need to get over this and realize a loss to Santos is not the end of the world as I'm sure they will win again soon. Â Dont attack another team or coach, it just makes you look bad.

We can argue at what we saw and didn't but as pissed off as a coach has been have never seen that happen at this age. whatever reason it might have been i didnt look good. I also want clarify and say i that i never said they didnt deserve to win, they scored more then santos so they deserve to win.

I'm actually loving seeing you both get so upset over 8 yr old soccer. It's funny how the Dudley and Santos players were once together, now you both talk trash about each other.
aarond0409, no one is hiding. My BB has been with Depew ever since he started academy soccer. My other son is now in the FC Dallas Academy. As posted on another thread and there is no reason for the teams among the club to debate one another on which of the FCD teams are better.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
admittedly, i didn't see the postgame "handshake" debacle - but I would agree it would be very unsporting and look bad if it appeared a team, coach, etc avoided the customary handshake...I'm not trying to say it's forgivable - I would say it's not...
HOWEVER, what I am saying is something seems to be lost in translation here. There is zero chance the team/coach/players purposely avoided shaking hands. Maybe wires crossed, bad timing for post-game chat, something - but to paint a picture that a u9 team would not shake hands is just off base.
for fear of stoking any underlying fires here - i think this whole rivalry here is much-ado-about-nothing. I know many families across many different clubs...there are intense games where both teams/coaches/families want to win..sometimes the games seem to "mean" more than others - but at the end of the day - i think most of the boys consider kids that play with AND AGAINST - friends. this is largely just silly noise. kids come and go from team to team - and there are no hard feelings. each kid/family does what is best for them - period. I would hate to think a coach, kid, parent didn't like me or my son because of who he plays for, what style/system he plays in, or even how he coach behaves. c'mon...silly.

Soccerknowledge101 wow just wow.
Look at the posts, you are the trouble maker causing issues. I see a santos parent complimenting dudley but troubled about not shaking hands. In response a Dudley parent had a nice response but explained the handshake thing wasnt as appeared. Dudley parents sorry I assumed Soccerknowlegde101 was with you, i now realize what a grievous mistake and insult to you. Please accept my apologies

@ballerdad09 I agree with trying to rank is impossible. Many kids throughout the league are not "guest playing", rather they are "committed" to two teams. Worked out by playing a Saturday league with one and a Sunday league with another.

I love the rankings....It's fun for us crazy adults. They don't mean anything but definitely make the forum interesting. I don't discuss them with the BB, though. I think the girls forum does it better with BWGopher doing the computer rankings. I also think the boys tend to play for multiple teams more than the girls.

Oh no, sounds like your kid is a hopper or the other word ive heard used is jumper. According to sballs your kid should join his bbs team. Certainly he knows the correct path for development! i guarentee if his kid was good enough he would be a jumper aswell.

Coterminous wrote:Now is good as any time to put up the top 10 preseason 2009 list. (based on wins not based on style- style would be completely different)
1. NTX Eligio (formerly Dallas Texans) - surprised they jumped from DT and formed new club
2. Dallas Texans South
3. Allegiance - I know they had some so-so results lately but they still 3 in my book.
4. TIGRES ACADEMY FT WORTH 09 JIMENEZ
5. tie between Brazil, Solar Dudley and NTX Santos (looked at PLD they all lost and won against each other so not enough data to say which of these is ultimately better)
6. see above
7. see above
8. Elite United
9. DT Palomeque
10. Garland Tigres
Other teams just out; FCD Depew, Dallas Texans Jdensk Red, FCD Adrian West
It seems most of the top 10 can beat each other on any given day. There is no dominant team like in the 08 division.

The real question is who is the top coaches when it comes down to training and development , can we get a top 10 ranking or even a top 5 ranking in best training and development? Is there even a argument about the top 5 coches for these 2009 boys ?
