At what age do rosters shake out, and settle down?
It seems like every year I see a lot of roster changes. At what age do rosters shake out, and settle down?

Is it because kids quit to play other high school sports?

that is definable part of it. but a few of your faster strikers will not be playing 3 years from now because they don't develop technically NOW. as its easy to outrun slower defensive players. as weaker athletes fall out and others mature physically the entire landscape changes. just sit back and do your best to make sure your child loves the game and developed a great FIRST TOUCH

really this only happens with the bigger clubs and very rarely with indies they will usually stay together but the big clubs usually recruit up their best players just ask soccerdadrandy03lovingsoccer wrote:It seems like every year I see a lot of roster changes. the big clubs change each and every season until right about their junior or senior years in HS

some of the best west texas soccer athletes played until (or through) the 8th grade. then some of the BEST switch to basketball and football. parents don't have to get kids to and from practices or games. soccer and its pay to play format creates a lot of player turnover irrespective of other politics and issues

Re: At what age do rosters shake out, and settle down?
Strikers turn over a lot, especially U11-U14 as the early maturing kids sprout up quick and are able to outrun everyone. Then, most of them fall out by U17 as the other kids catch up and pass them.
Same old story over and over. And, there's the ubiquitous overzealous dad who figures he has the next big thing and let's everyone know about it. Lather, rinse, repeat.
