Cowtown Tourney...Who's Coming?

Who is coming to the Cowtown Tourney May 7-9?

It conflicts with State Cup, so I'm guessing not too many D1 teams will be there.

Aces will be there.

ASG Red West will be there

That's a pretty good representation. I wonder if there will be a "Gold" and "Silver" bracket or if it will be all combined?

It will be interesting to see the schedule when it comes out, but I bet you are pretty close.

FWU Blue - ??? I wonder if this is the FWU White team from PPL, as the Blue team does not appear to be active in looking at the FWU website.

I'm guessing four divisions with four, four, three and three teams. The three-team divisions would probably play a crossover game. Here is how I would set the divisions, trying to keep seeding in mind and keeping the top seeds separated:

Div. 1 - Texans Red West, ASG Red West, West Texas United, Aces
Div. 2 - Tejanos, Barcelona, N Texas Strikers, FWU Blue
Div. 3 - FWFC, Texans White West, FWU N Blue
Div. 4 - Hurst United, Irving Elite, Texas Lightning

hoff I think the FWU Blue team is the one that finished last in APL

This looks like it's goin to be a very good tourny! Who do you see in the semis ? Finals? Who's ur pick for champion?

First of all, I readily admit I know little to nothing about any of the Classic League teams besides what I knowledge I can gather by looking at their results and standings. I have not watched any of these teams play, or paid much attention to the CL threads on this site, as I have been focused solely on the action in PPL. It would be cliche to say the D1 teams would be the favorites. Although I think they certainly deserve the benefit of being the top seeds, I honestly think that some of the other teams are in a better position to do well.

FWFC, Hurst United, Irving Elite and Texans Red West are my pre-tourney picks to make the semi-final. Based on their meteoric rise from APL and their domination of the D3 group this season (17-0-1, +92 goal differential), I expect Irving Elite to make the final and win it all.

I think FWFC and Irving Elite would be a great final. Both teams have great attacking lines, however defense wins usually therefore DTRW will be in the mix too.

German I think your right, FWFC has a great team and did well in this tourny last year , they are my pick to win it all. I see them playing IE, hurst or DTW but you never know some of these PPL or APL teams could make a run

I agree - FWFC and IE final. Both teams have the habit of winning big, which'll work in their favor over the others. That said, bracket play could really work for or against some of the teams. It wouldn't be shocking to see any of the teams (especially Hurst, DTRW and or the Tejanos) in the mix.

Looks like a great event no matter what.
