Classic League Watered Down?
Interesting topic from a soccer forum in California.. Interested to see what the NTX response will be.
Do you feel as if the U-13 age group for classic league is watered down with some of the bigger clubs giving USSDA teams priority?

Re: Classic League Watered Down?
Without a doubt it has been watered down a little for the 02s this year but not as much as the 01s last year. The clubs decided not to do dedicated PA for the 02 birth year. So only the 01 birth year kids were affected this time around.
Yes DTS and Solar Stricker teams were gutted but some other teams were largely unaffected. Liverpool Rush strengthened. Andromeda (aka Texans) I believe are doing both PA and Classic. Goncalves only lost 2 players to Academy. I think Liverpool Owen & Ayses were also largely unaffected. I am not sure about Pino but I don't think he lost that many players to Academy.

Re: Classic League Watered Down?
DTS lost all but 1 starter to PA & 1 to Mexico.
Solar lost a few, but seriously reloaded.
Gonclaves lost a few.
LP Rush & LP Owen play NPL, therefore their players are allowed to play both.
Mexico, Ayses, & Sporting weren't affected.

Re: Classic League Watered Down?
If your definition of a few is "2" you are correct......
Others may have left but only 2 went to FCD academy.

Re: Classic League Watered Down?
I don't think it watered down Classic this year for the 02's as it did prior to the 01's. Like Davito mentioned it really only affected the top 2 teams from last season. All the rest may have lost a player or 2 if any. Even with player movement from DTS and Solar to PA those 2 teams will be okay. I kind of like it to where it can be anyone's game each Saturday.

Re: Classic League Watered Down?
No disrespect intended Futbolista & Davito,
But in a way, it is pretty watered down, seeing as how we'll not be able to gauge how good or bad a team is without Solar & DTS's heavy hitters not being on the field against these teams.
Solar, LP Rush, and Andromeda should be your Top 3 teams.
LP Owen, DTS, & Sporting will finish out the Top 6 with Ayses and Mexico fighting to stay in.
Just my opinion.

Re: Classic League Watered Down?
The best of the best play USSDA with Classic being the next league down. When you get to U18 you can have the same argument.. "This team would have been number 1 except their 'heavy hitter' got signed and is now playing MLS". MLS can have the same argument, "we would have won it all if our top hitter had not gone to EPL."
We are so obsessed with wanting to know who the number 1 team is in the number 1 league. Well, "classic" isn't the number 1 league, USSDA is above it. It is akin to if Plano League parents complain that the top PL1 teams went to Classic and not being able to know who the best is. Best relative to what?
No, I do not have a USSDA player.
