Re: '02 Week 3 Predictions
Similar to all of our matches with them so far. They beat us in fall. We beat them in spring. Guess it was time for a tie. Lol
Very even game with not a lot of scoring chances. LP Owen had a few more scoring opportunities (especially later in the game) but Andro's defense was quite good.

I agree. And I know that there are some parents that don't allow their kids to play PA, NPL, etc even if asked due to the travel. Soccer isn't everything to many parents regardless of talent level (gasp!). LOL
We're going to attempt NPL this year...Hopefully, the travel and cost (plus, athletics at school, band, church, etc) doesn't sour the experience.
You're correct Liverpool_Pool parent.
PA or this NPL's not for everyone.
Sometimes CL & Middle School sports are enough.
Especially if the parent & kid are more concerned with academics than athletics or the parents just don't have the time and/or money to invest in PA or NPL.
To each their own.
But Liverpool did surprise a lot of folks with that 0-0 tie vs. Andromeda.
If they play the rest of the season like they did Wednesday night, Liverpool Owen will be in the Top-5 by the end of the Fall season.
Maybe even the Top-3.

Re: '02 Week 3 Predictions
Any predictions/upsets for this weekend?
Liverpool Rush looks solid vs. Solar.
Llverpool Owen should come off the 0-0 tie with Andromeda with more confidence after facing such a talented team.
I know nothing much about Sporting or Ayses, so I cannot rightfully comment except for looking at the results.
DTS, although they're rebuilding, should give a good showing. Coach Sal builds winners and sometimes it does take longer.
If I may, my pick for the Game-Of-The-Weekend would be Andromeda vs. FCD Gonclaves.

"Cuss his way to a win" LOL!
Sadly, my son will actually miss our matchup against SU later this season due to a school conflict (mid week game). I was interested in seeing that team play.

I personally wouldn't go that far to say "no bueno". He is a great coach and gets results regardless. I think they will turn it around.

Just look at the history of all Snell's teams he has acquired and where they ended up. With that type of talent they should be a number one team. Nice guy, practices one way, and plays games totally different.

Time for a tie? Come on man, LP Owen lives for the tie. Their past records speak for themselves. I'm just stating the obvious.Liverpool_Parent wrote:Similar to all of our matches with them so far. They beat us in fall. We beat them in spring. Guess it was time for a tie. Lol

"Past Records" don't mean squat for this CL season.
"Past Records" had DTS, FCD Pino, & Solar Red as the Top 3 teams.
This doesn't mean that these coaches can't turn this around though.
The majority of these teams have made major changes to their rosters.

So what was the purpose of your message? Just to spout off? SMH
I don't even understand your point....Someone asked about the game and I answered. The insistent desire to post jerky messages shows no class. We lost to Thornber once, beat them once and tied them once. That was the topic of discussion. Your response was just you wanting to see your own smart-allec words posted to an anonymous soccer forum. I don't get it.
BTW: We tied again today. Just for you...

Tied again? Shocker!! The point is you pay LP to train your kids how to play defense. You tied twice this week & I'd put money that you will probably tie again next week.

Probably Solar, look at his avatar. I guess he knows what his talking about. They did beat LP Rush. Solar's coach is doing very well with his new kids. Great Job Coach!

I can only guess that it's because we always seem to tie his kids former team. And yes, we do tie a lot. We also do not give up many goals. We tied 0-0 against the team that beat your former/current team 4-0 just a week or so ago. As far as paying LP to teach defense? I have no problem with that. My son is the starting center defender. I just don't get the constant lip about our team. You don't see anyone from our team criticizing Stricker... I am just a parent that posts about our team. I don't see any purpose at all in constant criticism of a team that you have nothing to do with. Why the obsession? Actually, don't answer that. I'd rather not have any more discussion on the subject. Actually, I am considering just cancelling my account. I didn't join to listen to parents berate other teams. I misjudged what this forum is about. It seems to be more about the vicarious parents than the kids.
