So here we are a little more than half way through the fall season and there have already been some significant and obvious changes in the rankings and also some surprises in the way some of the teams have performed:

Current Classic/Division 2 rankings based on points:

Seems Athletico is the team to beat, with a total of 22 goals for and only 3 goals against.

After all of the hoopla, I'm a little surprised that FCD White is doing so poorly. I did notice that the once infamous team manager is no longer the team manager. Maybe they need him back out in the middle of the field cheering the team on! Laughing

Anyone concerned with what will happen with the age pure of these teams once next season comes along? Hopefully everyone is heavily loaded with one age group or the other (04 or 05)

I think anyone with an 04, 05 or 06 birth year should be concerned.
Thanks to the '06 birth year players not being able to go select, the '05's qualifying next summer will need players and they will be coming from the current '05 U11 teams.

If your BB is an '05 spring birthday, be prepared for the fun of qualifying again.

allen04 my BB is an 05 that just qualified and if everything falls into place he will need to do it again next year. His current team is 1/2 04's and 1/2 05's and im not allowing him to play up.

So if you play up, can you do that for a year and if you dont like it, go back and play at your pure age?

Starting in the fall of next year you can play up for as long as you like or as long as the coach will have you. In Classic you can't play up the first year of select, the 05's this year will be AP 04's next year in their 2nd year of select and will remain playing 11v11 ball. The AP 05's will play 9v9 for the next two years, Fall 2016-Summer 2017 graduating to 11v11 for Fall 2017. Anyhow, that's how I understand it.

This is not gospel and only my interpretation of what will happen with the current 05 teams.

Option 1 - Current teams can stay together however they will play in the age group of the oldest player. Current 05 teams will need to play in the 04 age group starting next fall if they want the team to stay the same as this season. This group will have the option of playing 9v9 or 11v11.

Option 2 - 05's currently playing in select can join the new wave of 05 select players starting next fall and play age pure. This group will play 9v9.

I'm not sure that Classic will offer 9v9 for AP04's next fall, last I heard they will only offer 11v11 for this age group.

According to a press release here, from nationalpremierleagues.com, the birth year registration is to take effect in 2016 and the small sided games mandate is to take effect in 2017, but so far I have not been able to find a source direct from U.S. Soccer to verify this. All of the information that I have read from U.S. Soccer mandates all changes to take effect in 2017, not just small sided games. So if North Texas Soccer is implementing the birth year registration in 2016 instead of the mandatory 2017, I would assume that the small sided game mandate may be implemented in 2016 as well. Has anyone found a direct source from U.S. Soccer or North Texas Soccer that clarifies this?

I have heard rumors that FC Dallas and Solar are going age pure starting in January....Way I heard it is that teams will finish of league games with current squad, train with new team and also play in a pure age league. Don't shoot the messenger....

So FCD and Solar players will be playing on two teams during the spring season, their current team and then their new age pure team? I'm not sure how that is going to work if the two teams are coached by different coaches. Seems to me that the clubs and North Texas Soccer should just go ahead and allow voluntary tryouts and new age pure team formations after the fall season, and then also realign the soccer year to Jan - Dec. Wishful thinking, I know.

So I'm looking at the current State Team Rankings for North Texas on GotSoccer, and I'm perplexed. The top 7 rankings and ranking #47 I somewhat understand, but the others, not so much.

Both will now be in Division II. The rumor I've heard in the past is that Molina will not have an 04 team for 2016/2017. If not, what team will receive Molina's division two bye? I've heard (yes, another rumor) that the Club will get to choose the team that receives the bye. Anyone else heard this?

Both get to stay in Division III. I'm a little surprised to find Topletz at #3, but way to go guys!

These teams get to go to the challenge games and battle it out to see if they can return to Classic. I'll be very surprised to see all of these returning. I'm sure at least one or two will enter the qualifying tournament as an 05 team. From what I've read, Crispino may have a hard time keeping his players. Being FC Dallas, no matter how much negative publicity the team gets, I'm sure they can still field a competitive team.

Congratulations to Athletico Espanol and FCD Molina! Well done, well done!

The bye stays with the club. FCD will retain it as long as they paid Classic the bye fee of $800 by July 11th. Just a quick look at the PPL standings, FCD Gold finished in 2nd in D1. I would think it would go to either them or Lopez if Molina's team folds. Crush finished in 1st in PPL, they probably should have made Classic last summer but had a few very tough match ups in the QT. My money is on them to make it in.
