Anyone have any insight on these teams??

WOW; that is a lot of teams. Can't believe my BB's year only had 40 trying to qualify.

Any guesses as to how they will group 66 teams and determine who advances week 1 and 2?

Looks like 46 for '06 Boys which makes it interesting since they are taking 40 in the first year...only 6 cuts for the '06 Age Group.

1st year that entire age group has qualified and they are trying to make it 'less' do or die in an attempt to protect their innocent natures? Beats me.

I believe it will be 20 in D1/D2 (combined)
10 in D3.

After year one, 10 in each division.

A lot of teams trying to qualify!!!

saw in the 05 post that they are bantering back and forth on seeding...Any one want to take a shot on top 10, Top 20 for seeding for the 06 qualify tourn.

To get you started, I sorted the 06 teams based on their King Tut results and then grouped them. KT certainly isn’t the only factor and several teams didn’t play (I’m a fan of both clubs, but the contrarian in me absolutely loves that the Dallas Texans choose not to financially support FCD’s tourney!).  Since the rosters are close to the same as they will be in QT, it had some relevance on the 05 rankings.

Caveat: I admit up front that I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THESE TEAMS PLAY. Again, I’m just trying to give you a starting point. The good news is that you have seen many of these teams and know them well – so jump in with your collective knowledge and modify the list to make it more accurate. Have fun!

Qualifying Tournament information out...looks like it will be more high risk in that all D1 invites and half of the D2 invites will be decided on the first weekend.
With 46 entries, it also means there has to be more than 4 teams in 6 of the 10 brackets. So either the teams play 3 round robin matches and don't play every other squad or there are 4 round robin matches (with the smaller brackets playing crossovers).
Should be very interesting to see the brackets.

Brackets released...

I haven’t seen any seeding complaints here on the ’06 board.  Is the consensus that CL seeded it correctly and all of the top 2 seeds in each bracket will qualify for D1? Or does somebody see a darkhorse (21+ seed) that earns their way into CL D1? (Rayos? FCD Silver Redzic? Fever Moreno? anyone?)

FCD got 3 teams in D1 and the number of teams they get in continues to diminish year after year since Snell left.

Funny how a team with more points in QT than half these teams gets stuck in D2. Congrats to all these teams though. It will shake itself out this year.

True, but those three 06 FCD teams went 10-0 and gave up 1 goal all weekend.

Last season, the top 10 D1 05/04 teams were half FCD.  The FCD Premiere 05/04 team and the Texans ran away with the league.  FCD ended the year with teams in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th.  

And the 05s are off to a good start with more teams than any other club in D1 (5).  

Solar (4), Texans (4) and Liverpool (3) had strong QT showings too.  

Having several healthy competitive clubs and a few strong independents is a great for NTX.

Right but the older teams are still the product of Snell and his program. Next year we will see less and less teams qualify, 06 and younger.
