DTFF 03B Brackets Up

Texans Craft in the White division while several CL D2 teams in the Red division? Unless they are doing some serious experimentation, would seem they would walk through the White division given the form they've been in.

A complete mess. Shows you they have no idea what they are doing over there. My 6 year old could form better brackets.

Yes. Craft will win the lower division against lower D2, D3 and Plano and Arlington teams. They would be one of the top teams, if not the top team, in the upper division.

I agree with you, they will win the lower division. Hands downed thru are the best team in the lower division.

I initially thought this was a "typo" and would get adjusted as most schedules usually do. Yet, here we are three days before the tournament and there are NO Dallas Texans listed in the red bracket. Yet, they do have the the second place D1 team (Craft) in the white bracket.

Also of interest is what their tournament says "Dallas Cup Executive Director Gordon Jago stated that “We are often criticized by local clubs that they are superior to many of the teams that we have invited. The Texans’ Fall Festival tournament will give them the opportunity to prove us wrong.". I guess if they are playing in the White bracket then their chances are pretty good.

This is a Dallas Cup qualifier for Non local teams. It defeats the purpose of having local teams in the top bracket since they can not qualify. It is not a slam in DT Craft to be in the white bracket. Even if they do win they can not qualify for DC. This just give more opportunities for non local teams to challenge for a DC bid.

I'd like to think our local teams would see this as an opportunity to play good, motivated, non-local teams, not get out of their way so their route to a DC slot is easier.

Simply put this is on Ray Hirsch who is the tournament director. He should be embarrassed to have his name attached to this. Why not just put all the D1 teams in the lower division and all the D# and D3 lower teams in the upper division. Might as well make it as easy as possible.

Is there a reasoning that I’m not aware of on why are local teams not eligible to qualify? This weekend and next weekend. Both tournaments state they only non local tournaments are able to qualify. I figure you would want the best team local or non local qualifying for DC?

DTSC and Bobby Rhine gave their U15 spots to academy teams. It was disappointing, so we passed. It looks like some other folks did, too.
