Michael Brown tournament for '01s?

Did any '01 teams play in it last year? What was your
experience? Any input will be appreciated.

I read (in another thread) that it was pretty cold
last year but I can't find any historical information
on it. This is all I found.

Dt Densk did play inn this tourney vs

Solar Red
Solar Partain
FCD Snell
FCD Khastedel(sp)
3 of the 4 top teams i n the area. Good tournay and well ran.

Thanks trblmkr. The reason I did not find any official scores is because only friendly (no official scores are kept) games are played.

In the past FC Dallas has kept scores for friendly games (King Tut), however I am not sure this was played last year. The Michael Brown Winter Classic IX was held in 2009.

When I wrote "last year", I meant last soccer year (2009-2010). Having said that, the tournament was indeed played in Jan. 2010 and no official scores were kept or posted. BTW, I'm told that Solar Red won it but no way to verify that.

this was a nice tournament and while no scores seem to have been kept, they were used to seed the final games. if i remember correctly, there were 8 or so teams. there were 4 strong teams and 4 weaker teams. i am not trying to incite an argument. the 4 stronger teams were placed in one bracket and the 4 weaker teams in another. the directors of the tournament with the coaches felt that providing each team with at least 3 competitive games (no 5 or 6- 0) was best. hence, fcd snell, SR, Texans-densk, and Solar -partain were in one bracket. after three games the teams were seeded into 1 through 4. Team 1 in one bracket played the top team in the other and so on. Only being able to speak for the games we watched, it was well run and competitive. the directors and the coaches were really intent on having the boys play quality matches....
