97B D3 Last weekend prediction

With a top spot still up for grabs, and a bottom spot still possible for 2 teams, should be a good weekend.

Texans 1, Monterrrey 3
Barcelona 2, McKinney 1
Andro Navy 1, Strikers 4
Andro Gentile 2, Silver 1
CDI 1, Amarillo 2

Texans 1, Amarillo 2

With that I guess I am predicting Amarillo joins Monterrey in moving to D2 and FCD Silver joins Andro Navy in the challenge games. Good luck to all.

Since most teams are in you will see lots of playing time for the subs.

Moving up to D2 Amarillo and Monterrey, again two outsides from APL and PPL.

Moving out FCD Silver and Andro Navy, two big time clubs finishing last.

Come on RtyMid, share the wealth. If ya'll were to not make it to D2 this weekend, what happens when the Texans Red from D1 go to Academy next year? Would ya'll be in line for the bye spot or would you have to fight it out with the Texans White West from D2?

Just my opinion. Don't know anything about moves to Academy or how that would play out. None of the players can control that either way. If the shoe were on the other foot, I'm sure you would want to see your boys win it outright. Should be a great weekend! Let's all pray for no ref debacles.

Just messing with you. Trying to ease the tension just a little bit. Totally agree with you. Wouldn't have it any other way. Like you, I pray that the referees make good calls and non-calls.

Well soccer fans this is the weekend we have been waiting for. My predictions are as follows:

Monterrey 2 Texans 0 - Should be great game.

Barcelona 2 McKinney 1 - Barcelona has fallen recently due to lack of discipline, but still should win this game.

Strikers 2 Andro Navy 0

Andro Gentile 1 FCDS 0

ALSC 2 CDI 0- Think Amarillo moves the ball to well for CDI to compete.

Amarillo 1 Texans 1- Game of the weekend to watch. With my prediction of Monterrey beating Texans on Saturday and this game being a tie, that would mean Monterrey and ALSC move to Div II and Texans fall short once again.

Silver was loosing at halftime, not sure of final.

Texans were up 2-0 only to let Monterrey come back and win 3-2. CDI won over Amarillo 2-0. If my math is correct Texans need a tie in tomorrow mornings game against Amarillo to advance.

DTRS 3 ALSC 2. Hard fought game by both teams. Congrats to all the players for a good season.

Congrats to DTRS-they finally won a big game. I believe this team had finished in 3rd place the last couple of seasons under a different name.

Sad to see Andro Navy in this position, but it was due to a last minute coaching change at signing day.

As for FCD Silver, it was due to a coach putting his FCD 99 team as a priority, first part of the season he practices his 99's team all season long combined with his FCD 97 Central team. Advantage to the 99's but not helpful to his 97's Central boys, then the second half of the season he practices all three teams together most of the season. Again an advantage to his 99's team. Congrats to players for moving up to D1, but at the expense of his D-2 and D-3 97 teams.

Make sure when playing for this FCD coach you find out if you team is going to have combined practices. Not fair when playing over $2000.00 dollars plus a year and the ratio of players to a coach is 1 to 30+, that really defeats the purpose of delevoping players.

Think you should have said something before the season is over. Was the issue ever communicated to the director of coaching?

Issue with Silver isn't the amount of time the coach spent with the team, it's the quality of coaching. He hand picked this team at the start of the season so quality of players was completely within his control. he even moved some D2 players down to the D3 team to try to save the D3 bye. Bad coaching = bad results.

As for Andro, agree with coaching switch being the problem. Another coach hand picked the team and then the current coach got handed the team the day after everyone signed.

What does all this talk of D1 teams going to Academy league really mean for the D3 teams in the challenge games? Both FCD and Andro would potentially have teams go play Academy...which potentially means that Silver and Navy could keep their D3 spots or in the case of Silver, maybe move up to D2 to take Central's spot if a spot opens up in d1???

More likely issue is that since both teams we built from scratch it takes more than a single season to come together as a team. Both showed improvement in second half.
