Re: Congratulations to National League Champions!
Wait a minute. Let me understand this correctly. The FCD U-15 team is in 5th in Classic League and took 8th in Premiere League, but just because they beat a bunch of scrub teams in National League they get a free pass to Nationals? (and entirely bypass regionals?) That's messed up.
But I guess if the parents are willing to spend the money flying around the country to beat other scrub teams just to get the free Nationals pass they deserve it.

didnt they QUALIFY for National League by making the USYS Region III Final last season? i'm not positive on that, but i always thought there was a qualification process for National League

Seriously Crochet? Scrubs? You're either stupid, ignorant or both. What you are saying is that all teams that made the Finals of Region I, II, III and IV in 2010 are scrub teams. WOW!

I'm confused. Besides FCD and Lonestar not one other team in FCD's U15 National League division played in a Regional final. What am I missing?
Yes, last season's FCD team was solid. I take nothing away from them or their success in getting to the Region III final. But this team didnt even come close to qualifying for Regionals in Premiere League--8th place! So they found another much easier route in.
Sour grapes? Perhaps some, as it seems to me that National League is an undeservedly easy route to Nationals.

yes they lost some players to the FCD academy team. Besides doesn't matter how they got there they still have to play the games

Ahhh, my point exactly--the games they played to get there were a far easier route than what has been customarily required to get there. Waters down the accomplishment.

It is sort of like winning Disney now-a-days when they have about 4-6 "champions per age group"
