What happened - the Turf * owner had been wanting to take TM to "a new level" for quite some time. The thing he has now ... well, it's unclear to me exactly what it is supposed to be, I assume it is something like facebook (another thing I don't use).
No one understood it and no instructions were ever given on how to use it or what its capabilities were. All we ever wanted was a simple place to chat about soccer. People did their best with it - those who chose to stay and try to figure it out. When this board came along, people came over here because it fills a need - a simple place to chat about soccer.
I predict that TM will not last much longer in its present format. Which is very unfortunate because I think the TM person is trying hard and the previous version of TM filled a need for a long time. But this is a classic case of alienating your user base. Giving people what they don't want, don't need, and didn't ask for is going to make them head for the door quick.
