Gonna go out on a limb here and stick with Andromeda. Craft hasn't really played a team of that quality in a long time and their heads are WAAAAAAY too big. Might catch them napping.Axxman wrote:Dang Speedy, not sure about your first pick, but I'll take it! Here are mine;

Re: 99 D1 Week Two Predictions
Interesting weekend. Barcelona beat Solar Red, Solar and FCD. Those are the number 2, 4 and 6 in the CL rankings. They lost to Texans (#1) last weekend and play DTS (#2) this weekend. If they continue to play well over the next few weeks, especially against DTS, you would have to consider them top ten before long.

What are you smokin...Top ten before long?? They just beat 4 of most of these experts???? top 6. That's brilliant thinking on your part. I think they have pretty much earned a top 5 ranking!

Re: 99 D1 Week Two Predictions
Perhaps they will end up top 5, but my bet is against it. Say what you want, but in a long tournament a couple of guest players can make a big difference. They carry 13 which means they normally only have a couple back-ups and who knows how good. A couple nice guest players not only gives you added fire power, but the capability to sub in and out and keep legs fresh, where you may not normally be able to do that with your regular team. So lets see what happens this weekend against DTS and go from there.

Re: 99 D1 Week Two Predictions
I would agree with most of that if the game would have been a close battle..1-0,2-1 2-0. The problem with your argument is they beat FCDallas(SUAREZ) and Solar 4-0. I am not sure if you are aware of this but that's like a score of something like 31-0 in american football terms. Those games were not close and I find it hard to believe that 2 guest players(we don't know how much they played or their level of play) made that big a difference. It is decided on the field not in the teams names(Solar,FC) and it is clear Barcelona is a much better team than those they played this weekend. When they beat TexanSouth this weekend I figure you will find another excuse.

Re: 99 D1 Week Two Predictions
Soccer matches, like many other sports, has alot to do with match-ups. Have you never seen the top teams or tennis player, or whatever, that are unbelievable but sometimes have a difficult time against teams they should just drill? Matchups! And if you think guest players don't play a big role, you are nuts, and why then did Barcelona get them in the first place? I'm n ot making excuses, I could care less about Barcelona to be honest with you. They seem like a nice little team, I'm just saying lets give it time to see just how good. I will make no excused if they win or lose to DTS cause frankly it doesn't much matter to me. But if they beat DTS this weekend, I will certainly be impressed but if they lose, perhaps the guest player thing may have had something to do with it???CLUB31 wrote:I would agree with most of that if the game would have been a close battle..1-0,2-1 2-0. Re: 99 D1 Week Two Predictions
Barcelona can win without their guest players. I just took a look at the tournament game pictures and kept counting 14 players, so I don't know if they played with 14 or 15 this weekend. They might have had one hurt player, don't know. For the easier games, I noticed the coach let his weaker players play most of the game. They will easily make the top seven.CLUB31 wrote:I would agree with most of that if the game would have been a close battle..1-0,2-1 2-0. Not totally sure about that prediction but I think they will make the 9th or 10 spot! Re: 99 D1 Week Two Predictions
Because in the end, it's the BB who decides. This year, next year, and many years to come. He goes wherever he wants because at this age, playing with friends mean a lot to these guys. However, I can say that he's making friends on many teams now, so it's not going to be difficult for him to adjust anywhere. As for me, parents are a huge plus or minus, so I tend to weigh in a little bit if there's a tie-breaker.Axxman wrote:You sound like you love Barcelona, why didn't you just sign with them in lieu of the Comets? Mr. Corner Pocket, are you sure there is no bias in your first pick, lol...... Here are mine;
Andromeda Red v. Texans Craft
Solar v. Solar Red - Solar Red is looking for revenge and will get it.
Barcelona v. Texans South - The game to quiet Barca fans down for a bit.
Atletico Madrid v. FCD Suarez - I'll go with Suarez but this one will be a good one to watch.
FCD Gold Figueroa v. ASG Gold - Toss up.
CC Orange v. Comets Blue - I'll go with Comets blue but will not be surprised if I'm wrong. CC has been playing much better of late.
FC Force v. Chivas - Bet the farm.
Gunners v. Texans Red
FCD Blue v. Tyler Azzurri - Another one bites the dust.
FCD South v. Fort Worth FC - Saavedra will come thru here against the odds.
Bias and hope on the first pick! We agree on most of them except for FWFC, I gave them the advantage because they played several games this weekend and FCD did not.
