'97 Brackets
I am "guessing" they have them this weekend
I am also "guessing" 12 teams in a "gold" bracket with the other 16 teams in a "silver" bracket
But I really have no idea
All I know is ETXP would win this and the 96 group simultaneously if they were playing

A Total Guess at Brackets
The 12 "gold" I am guessing will be:
LOBOS RUSH BLUE
AMARILLO LIGHTNING
ANDROMEDA FC - U15 PRE-ACADEMY
ANDROMEDA FC RED
CANADIAN VALLEY FC RED
DALLAS TIGRES ACADEMY
DYNAMOS SELECT SOCCER DYNAMOS GOLD
FC DALLAS YOUTH 97B BLUE
NYSA CELTIC 97 GREEN
RAYADOS DE DALLAS 97B
SOLAR CHELSEA 97B RED
The better TUSC BLITZ-THUNDER UNITED team (Black or Navy)
I apologize to whatever "good" team I missed
I meant no offense
I did not lookup anyone in gotsoccer to see who is who
Just did off the top of my head

Thx socmom97
Not bad I got 10 of 12
I guess if I was and ETXP parent I would have gotten all 12 (all in fun Laimport. all in fun )
I am surprised Tigres of D2 is not in Gold but Barca of D3 is.
And Canadian Valley I thought was good
CSC I am drawing a blank

Re: PLD '97s
Thx for the CSC info, Laimport.
Not sure why you had to pm me though.
I'm just having a little fun.
I have seen your team for about 8 minutes this year (you were playing the other ETX team at Ayses and we were on the field behind and started a little late).
We were the 97 team that played in the 96 group.
I didn't see anything dirty but I did not see three passes strung together either.
But admittedly a very, very small sample.
So, I am reserving judgment until the Texans Tourney where I know I (and probably some others on here as well) will make a point to see at least one ETXP game.
And I guess how well CSC fairs at PLD will tell us alot about how good there tournament that you will be in the next week will be.
I will try and remember to check out all the teams in that tourney after PLD is over to see how strong it is.

Re: PLD '97s
I'll admit that game against the other ETX team was horrible. Horrible.
Don't know how that CSC team will match up at PLD. They do have one exceptional (in my opinion...emphasize opinion.) Player. Former ODP teammate of my sons. Think he made region 3 team that toured Mexico.
That CSC tourney isn't shaping up to be as competitive. I think it conflicts with some RPL (Central) games.
Hindsight being what it is, we should have played PLD instead of ASC.
I pm'd you because I got the distinct impression that you (along with several others) think I am also '00ref'. Or that somehow it was a 'plant'. Although I can admit the timing does and could look 'suspect'.
Like I said...there are probably ways of finding out.

It's interesting that they are taking eight of the twelve teams to the quarters. There's a better than average chance that we'll have another game on Sunday afternoon.

Where did everyone go. Congrats to Solar Red on the big win. I wasn't able to make it over to watch. It appeared Cajun Soccer (Lafayette, LA) gave Bracket B a good test. Thoughts..maybe some smack talk about ETX ducking the better teams. Anyone?

Re: PLD '97s
Yes, big kudos to Solar on the win ofver FCD Blue. We played FCD Blue twice, once in bracket play (1-1 tie) and again in the semis (4-0 loss). They were definitely a strong team, especially after they brought in all of the extra players for the playoff rounds. After the semis I figured they would roll right on to the title, so that speaks volumes to me about the quality of Solar (who I did not see in action at any point in the tournament).
I have to (selfishly) give a shout out to Andromeda 97 PA, who won their bracket in the Gold division and advanced to the semis in their first live game action (other than a couple of scrimmages) since re-forming this summer around a core of returning players. They showed improvement in each and every game, and I am proud of the way they competed against some much more experienced teams.
CSC was a very competitive team. I have nothing to say about ETX though. Let that thread die.

Well said and nothing wrong with giving your squad kudos I was just kidding about ETX, love to come on here to learn about the strengths/weaknesses of the different clubs and how they stack up relative to each other. Wish now we had made the trip to try our luck. Traveling to Lafayette this weekend to play in the CSC tourney instead. Also, not sure about November Dallas Texans Classic..another thread says the "auto qualifier" for Dallas Cup isn't so "auto" if your not from the Metro area. So who knows. Once again congrats to Solar Red, Andro PA et al

Yeah Hoff we told the tournament directors that we were FCDallas and needed to add some "Ringers" in the middle of a tournament . They gladly took out their erasers and Changed our roster exactly the way we wanted .
What you saw was our season team roster, no more , no less. 3 of our players were even injured 1 during our first meeting . So thanks for the compliment and the backhanded slap, just try to get your facts straight next time . Our boys played hard so did yours we just happend to be the one that came out on top.

Would it be fair to say that some of the FCD Blue players are on dual rosters?
Just asking, I'm not sure but I thought that was the case?

I never said the "extra" players weren't rostered, so cool your jets plantit. I just meant there were several players that played in the semifinal game that were not on the field in the preliminary game. They may have been on the roster all along, but were injured, resting, or unavailable for some reason in bracket play.

as in a DP for FC Dallas U15/16 DA and rostered on the USYSA club team. I know that is possible. I don't think they could be FT on the DA squad and on the USYSA club team simultaneously. As a DP though they are limited to 6 appearances with the DA squad

Re: PLD '97s
I would just like to say congrats to Solar Red for a big tournament win.. I got to watch the final and I would say it was a great battle from both teams, very fun game to watch. I seen that Solar picked up some great talent that will help them this year. Not taking anything from FCDB they are a great looking team and I'm sure will be hell to play against this year, they also have picked up some great players this season. It's going to be a great and competitive year of soccer in D1.
As for CSC they didn't look all that good to me so I would put them as a mid level D2 team. Sorry ETX..

go99, how could a team bring in additional players that weren't originally rostered at the start of the tournament? I apologize if that is the way my original statement was interpreted. That would be an unintended indictment of both FCD Blue and the PLD tournament directors. Congrats to FCD Blue for a strong showing.

Great final - expect many more Solar Red - FCD Blue finals
Congratulations to Solar Chelsea Red - it was a great final game against FDC Blue
Solar dominated first 20-25 minutes of the game, but FCDB took control of the rest of the game after Solar scored their first goal. Solar was very clinical in their finishing as they scored in much fewer shots and chances on goal. FDCB had dozens of shots on goal and many opportunities, but could not take advantage of them.
Tons of quality on both teams, I fully anticipate that these teams will reach the final stages of most '97 boys tournaments this year. It will be fun to watch!
