Re: 98 CL didn't have a full crew for our game again
We had a center and one AR last week. Center asked a parent from one of the two teams to be the other AR. I will not gripe too much about it, but lets just say that parent was put into a no win situation.

They didnt even recruit a parent for our game. Just ran the flag on one side and took a guess at the other.

Great to see that al that money we pay them is going to good use.
Hopefully, ths was just a one-time deal.

We had that on Thursday as well. They picked some guy to do the sideline. He didn't know that the ball has to cross the line before it was out. To my question if we get the money back the CR said: "Why, he did his job."

To some of you, this is redundant, but here's the proper procedure. When there is an AR missing, a parent can be used to call touch line issues ONLY...no fouls, no offside calls. Additionally, a parent from the OTHER team should be used for the 2nd half. As for money, 1/2 of the 2nd AR fee should be returned to each team.

Re: 98 CL didn't have a full crew for our game again
Same story Monday night finally had 3 officials, then a game on another field had 1 so they took one of our AR 5 minutes into the game. It just takes a lot of the professionalism out of the match. These games and teams are just to closely matched not to have 3 officials. On a side bar these 11 and 12 year olds know how to take full advantage of a missing ref. lots of cheap shots and they will play the ball way out of bounds with no guilt at all. Got to love it they grow up so fast.

Can't argue with any of that; however, the center needs to adjust his positioning and the 1 AR needs to take a more active role in calling fouls...possibly outside his quadrant. This should have been discussed between the center and the remaining AR when the one AR was pulled off.

Maybe they should be allowed to run a dual in this situation. Oops, wrong thread.
